Hello!
I am planning a wedding trip to WDW in January for a small group of us. It will be the first time for all of us! :cool1:

My best friend has a son who will be three weeks shy of his 3rd birthday. Would he need to purchase a child's pass for a 3-9 year olds for the parks? If not, does he need to get stamped or identified in someway that he is under 3?

Thanks for your help in advance with my newbie q's!

When we took my 2 1/2 year old she was free to get in, no stamps or passes needed. She also didn't need a fast pass to ride stuff. If you go to a buffet he will be free also. He can also eat free off of his mother's plate at most places.

Thank you! That's great info. Did you have to show a birth certificate or something similar to show proof of age?

No they took our word on it. When I made reservations they asked the ages of the children so when we ate with a ressie they already knew she was only 2. She is a tall kid too and they never asked for proof of her age.

Be careful about this. I personally saw a CM question a little girl who said she was 3; the mom said she was 2 but would turn 3 in "a few weeks" and was just "practicing" her age for the upcoming birthday. The CM then told the mom that she had to purchase a pass OR show proof of age, namely a birth certificate, because the girl had said she was 3.

If I were you, I'd bring a copy of the birth certificate just in case. That way, you won't have to worry about it. Remember that each time you enter a park or a buffet restaurant, you'll have to theoretically deal with the issue, and all it will take is one CM to make you regret not having the birth certificate.

Others have posted similar experiences on these boards. I believe most of the time, you'd have no problem, but CMs do sometimes question and use their authority. I wouldn't risk it.

I brought a copy of my daughters on our last trip just incase.

LOLOLOL I just realized the Tag fairy got me. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
