Trip of Extremes and Dreams! Tons of Pics! 11/30 -12/10 Update Highlight to the End

Sorry to hear about the diabetes. That sucks, especially in light of all you've been thorugh. I have a friend who is battling cncer right now and recently diagnosed w/ diabetes. Do you know which drug caused it? Could it be from the steroids?

Sounds like it will be a great day!

Our family always starts with PeterPan. Isn't it funny how everyone has their own special attraction they have to do first?

Sorry to hear about the diabetes. Stay strong. ;)

Sorry about the diabetes, a DISer TEMinnie used to be a diabetes nurse and I'm sure she wouldn't mind you PMing if you want any info, just tell her I sent you :rotfl:

I just love the Splash Mountain photo :rotfl2:

I feel just like this banana --> <-- when I think about our first MK day!! :woohoo:

I can't wait for the holly and lights on Main Street! :santa:
Seeing SpectroMagic for the billionth time!! :upsidedow :yay:
Getting spooked in Haunted Mansion!
Seeing Cinderella's castle twinkling with its ice lights!
"It's a small world after all...." :worship:
And I can taste that Citrus Swirl now....(cheating on the Dole Whip this year for one of these goodies!) Anybody ever tried one before?

Bummer about the diabetes. I was diagnosed 4 years ago. It can be such a pain some times. Although, I now have learned how my body works and know what I can "cheat" with and when.

I'm pretty annoyed with the whole wheat buns too. I'm thinking of bringing in my own:rotfl:

We always start with POTC too!! This year our first park day (Dec 1st) we will be in Epcot.

I've never been to Tony's. You'll have to let us know how it is.

Sounds like a great Day 2!!

Kimba

Hi Kimba!! I can't believe all the things we have in common -- good and bad! :rotfl: I can't wait to meet you!

I am shocked at this diagnosis. I know nothing about it and I don't know anyone who has it. So it is definitely a learning moment in my life. DD bought me a pile of books, even a cookbook since she knows how much I love cooking and will only eat what I cook at home!!

 about the diabetes. Hm...I wonder if that's why my mom was diagnosed with diabetes...what meds, do you know which ones?

ANYWAY...I am a strong advocate for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. I walk every year, and even won a golden sneaker award for raising over $1000 last year...exciting stuff! (I know you have adult onset (type II), but one research helps the other, right?!)

Hi Beana! The drug that caused it is Megace. I still need to be on it for the next two years but I'm hoping that the good diet and exercise will work.

That's wonderful about the JDRF! Congrats on that Golden Sneaker!! I love people like you who do such special things. My girlfriend who lives in Pittsburgh did the walk for the cure for Breast Cancer on Mother's Day, with my name on her back. Awesome! :cool1:

I also take steroids occasionally for allergies. If I had no luck, I'd have worse luck, but instead, I have Disney luck! That was corny, but true! princess: :dance3: :rotfl2:

It is cool how everyone has a way of starting off at the parks and what to do first! We've broken away from tradition a few times last year and are going to this year. Peter Pan is such a fab ride but always takes my breath away when you fly off!! :wizard:

Thanks, Jo! That Splash Mountain picture is so cute -- I burst out laughing when I found it. She was an adorable baby and isn't too bad right now!

Right back at ya, kid -- as long as I get to enjoy it all with you!!! :cloud9:

Due to the diabetes and the whole wheat bread choices, we are having to change all of our plans for our planned ADR's! (Or at least most of them!) If anyone has any great suggestions, let me know!

DD and I are going to work on it today and then I will go on with Day Three!! I've really been hanging onto this planning and having fun with it.. Makes everything better!

In the meantime, we're getting our pool ready for summer! Here are some pictures!

Great News!!!

I DO NOT have diabetes!!!! :cool1: Today I had numerous tests and the conclusion is that the cancer drug Megace is 100% cause of the rise of gluclose and not diabetes at all! I'm on several meds and they are working against each other in my body. I found a doctor who understands that and is helping me. I unfortunately found out my other doctor is an idiot! :rotfl:

Now back to the Disney dining planning -- no restrictions!! YIPEE!!!

:dance3: :cheer2: :hippie: :thumbsup2

OMG!!! What a roller coaster of emotions you have been on lately! So glad you got this straightened out. :cheer2:

LOL @ the Doctor being an idiot . youd think hed know better ... well at least you dont have to worry about THAT anymore . now if only the other " bad stuff " would disappear keep your fingers crossed ;)

Does that mean :mickeybar :mickeybar :mickeybar :mickeybar for everyone?!? :lmao: :thumbsup2

Amazing! You have been thru the wringer! I am so happy for you to not have another health issue to have to deal with.... just planning for a great Disney vacation, now that is fun! :goodvibes

:cool1:

I'm so happy right now! My very best friend in the entire world, whom I've known since I was three, just found out her biopsy for breast cancer was benign!! :lovestruc :thumbsup2 Enough of this health stuff -- how about if ALL OF US stay healthy from now on?? :cutie:

And last night, DD and I spent a lot of time planning what our ADR's are going to be! We are doing a few places we've never done before and we're so excited.

Day One is staying the same with Earl of Sandwich and Chef Mickey's. Day Two, is now including Columbia Harbor House for lunch. Yummy!

Day Three:

Epcot!!! I can't even begin to tell you how much I love World Showcase! It is one of my favorite places in the entire world ... and The World! We are going to have lunch at Tangeriene Cafe! We missed this last year due to DD not feeling so well and needing to go back to the hotel to rest. This year, I can't wait! The menu sounds so good and the food porn pictures look delicious! Dinner will be at our favorite: Le Cellier! :worship: I don't care that they changed the menu! They still have the NY Strip, which is what DD got last year and what I want this year! We'll pay OOP for the soup, which we can't resist! (Right now I'm eating Manwich and it doesn't really work as I talk about that delicious food!! :rolleyes1 ) What a great day -- I just LOVE Epcot!

And snacks! I'm going to go over some of the snacks that we are planning and haven't had to see if you guys have any tips, but I have to say that DD is lusting for the school bread in Norway! She LOVES it and is hoping to have more than one a day! :scared1: This girl is Norway crazy.

Last year I got screwed on my snacks. I was still dealing with my weird taste buds from chemo (still am ...) and kept forgetting to get things. By the end of our trip, I spent most of them in the store at French Quarter! No way is that happening this year! I'm on a snack mission!

DD's 21st birthday is coming up soon (the 27th) and I thought I'd share some from a birthday spent at the Poly!

Now I told all of you that DD is a history geek. Well, I have a confession to make. I'm a quotes geek. I search the internet and books for quotes that mean something to me. And, being a geek, have to share one with you!

"When you're young, you have moments of such happiness you thnk you're living someplace magical like Atlantis must have been. Then you grow up and your heart breaks in two."
*Stephen King, Hearts In Atlantis

This quote makes me think of Disney. It heals our hearts from growing up and allows us to be innocent children again.

Talk to ya all soon!

So glad your BFF got good news! I would probably be more devastated if my BFF had cancer than if I had it myself. :lovestruc

Your meals sound fabulous. I just know you two are having a great time planning.

Tell DD :bday: :cake:

party:

Your plans sound great and think of all those yummy snacks you can try this year :yay:
