Trip of Extremes and Dreams! Tons of Pics! 11/30 -12/10 Update Highlight to the End

Hey everyone, SkyGirl's DD reporting! :upsidedow She hasn't been at the computer in a few days, but she'll be back with some fun updates soon!

I just got off the phone with a CM and was lucky to score 2 tickets to MVMCP on Thursday, December 4th!! :woohoo:  :yay: :dance3:  :woohoo: This will be our 3rd MVMCP we've ever attended, it's so much fun! :goodvibes

The CM explained to me how at 7am this morning the huge turnout they received with so many people calling; I guess their computer system crashed and it wasn't until late morning they were up and running again. :confused3 I was reading on some other threads people are still having trouble getting the dates they want.......well, I'm glad we did! :rolleyes1

Is anybody else going to any of the parties this year?! We can't wait! DM should be updating soon, thanks everybody for reading and your thoughts/prayers/hugs/posts before she got her great news! :woohoo:

Hi Everyone!!:grouphug:

Day One has already been changed and our vacation isn't until December! DD realized that due to Disney's "less than a lot" of ECV's, they might not have one on December 1st, which was going to be our first day. We only live about three and a half hours away, and were planning on leaving at 6 a.m., but the thought of not having one was too scary for us after what happened at the Magic Kingdom last year. So DD had the great idea for us to go on November 30th! We are so excited because this is an extra day, but also a very different type of day for us than how we usually spend them (hitting the parks!!).

We are going to leave Ft. Lauderdale around 8:30 a.m. and enjoy our drive to Orlando, Christmas music blasting away! We'll check into POFQ and hope our room is ready, which I'm sure it won't be ... and then go to Downtown Disney for lunch at Earl of Sandwich. We are planning to take the boat there and it will be the first time we've ever done that. And we're so excited about eating at EoS. The menu and food porn pictures look sooo good! :yay:

Then we'll spend the day at our hotel, just really enjoying it. POFQ is so beautiful and we fell totally in love with it last year.

Dinner is going to be at Chef Mickey's! :cool1: DD planned this with much excitement and I'm practicing my "You're My Favorite" to say to each character as they come by the table! :lmao: I wonder how many kisses I will get this year? I think I'll make another list to torture DD with!! :rotfl:

We've never been to Chef Mickey's. When DD was little we were staying at the Contemporary and (this is before ADR's) the line to get in was unbelievable! So we skipped it. But I'm sorta glad we did, because we're so excited to go this year!

After dinner we are planning to go over to the Grand Floridian to see the Christmas decorations. :santa: We had planned to do that last year but couldn't, so we are really looking forward to it.

I wanted to post some pictures and although I've got a bunch, couldn't figure out which ones! I'm planning on putting in "old" pictures into my PTR for fun. Since DD and I are huge LOST fans, and hopefully some of you are, I'm putting up a few of these. I took these at MGM (I'm old-school and refuse to call it anything else!:hippie: ) in the Commissary a few years ago.

That's our Day One plans! We just can't wait!

Sounds like a great 1st day!! We arrive on 11/30 as well! We plan to play mini golf then check in at our rental house an relax!!

Have you ever thought about using an offsite rental place for your ECV? That way you'd have it for the parks and the resort. Just a thought!

We stayed at Port Orleans Riverside last year. It is beautiful there and the boat ride to DTD was so nice!! :cool2:

You two are going to have a great time!!

Kimba

I can't believe how much we are doing the same!
We did think about using an offsite rental for the ECV, it would even be cheaper, however, I am a horrible, horrible driver! :lmao: I can't imagine going on and off the busses with people watching and waiting while I have to back it up and pull it forward over and over again. But it was a great idea!

We can't wait for the boat ride!

Did you ever think about renting an ECV from an offsite company? I don't know a lot about Disney transportation, because I usually go to DL (I've been researching a WDW vacation) but at DL our own ECV came in handy for MIL. There was no need to return it, we could use it at both parks and all the way to/from hotel room - basically wherever we needed it. The company dropped it off at the hotel and picked it up the day we left. I think the Dis has a board that a lot of people look to for this kind of info -- sorry I don't know the link for it. :grouphug:

ETA: Sorry I just saw your response to Kimbac3 regarding the same thing I just posted.

Wooohooo an extra day :yay:

Your first day plans sound great, the GF Christmas deccies are meant to be wonderful, can't wait to see your photos :goodvibes

Hi Everyone!

First with the crappy news and then the planning for day two!
I found out today that I have diabetes, brought on by one of my cancer drugs. I know nothing about this disease, but have already rushed off to BN and bought some books.

Now the good! :cool1:

Day Two:

It will be Monday, December 1st and our first day in the parks. :thumbsup2 We always have a wake-up call although I think we were always awake before it last year! So after giggling at Stitch, we'll be getting ready for Magic Kingdom -- from opening until closing after EMH! A long and happy and wonderful day! princess: pirate: :dance3:

I'm pretty sure that we are having breakfast at Sassagoula before we catch the bus. Lunch will be at Columbia Harbour House. We've never eaten there -- does anyone have any suggestions on what is yummy? I was planning on skipping all Disney burgers this year and now discovered I have to. Disney switched to Whole Wheat buns and I am totally allergic to whole wheat. Ahh, not a big deal at all since the burgers turned me off last year, except for Peco's Bill-build-a-mess!!

Dinner will be at Tony's Town Square. It has been many years since we've eaten there, so we're excited. I'm still down about the new dining plan, though. I wish appetizers were still included or that you could pick between appetizers or dessert. Easy choice for me since I don't even like the sweets anymore and I am totally an appetizer type girl!

We are most excited about doing all our favorites again: POTC, Splash Mountain, Haunted Mansion and Carousel of Progress. We have one difference -- we usually start off in Adventure Land and do POTC first above all things! This year we decided to walk through the Castle and do Fantasyland first. I told DD it was good to get Peter Pan over with! :lmao:

Here is a picture of DD practicing for Splash Mountain! :goodvibes :rotfl:

And an old picture of Diva, looking ever so happy, in the Disney World prison for pets!! :rotfl2:

I hope all the Mom's had a GREAT Mother's Day!
xoxo

Bummer about the diabetes. I was diagnosed 4 years ago. It can be such a pain some times. Although, I now have learned how my body works and know what I can "cheat" with and when.

I'm pretty annoyed with the whole wheat buns too. I'm thinking of bringing in my own:rotfl:

We always start with POTC too!! This year our first park day (Dec 1st) we will be in Epcot.

I've never been to Tony's. You'll have to let us know how it is.

Sounds like a great Day 2!!

Kimba

 about the diabetes. Hm...I wonder if that's why my mom was diagnosed with diabetes...what meds, do you know which ones?

ANYWAY...I am a strong advocate for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. I walk every year, and even won a golden sneaker award for raising over $1000 last year...exciting stuff! (I know you have adult onset (type II), but one research helps the other, right?!)
