Trip of a “Million Dreams” Well laughs anyway*Last Installment 4/2 pg 12,#171 w/Pics

Didn't you mention TnkrBoo's scrapbook? Do you think you could post some pictures of it? I'd love to see it! :rolleyes1

I just found your TR. I didn't know you had one. I don't spend that much time on the Dis. Alas, poor Buzz (Montana Disney Fan) is getting tired of telling me to post on our TR... So much to do so little time.

Anyway, I have to get caught up on your trip! Sounds like you had a great time. I didn't think the pics of your daughters were unflattering at all. They and your wife are very pretty!!

Shouldn’t you be doing something important like taking out the trash or doing the dishes, instead of self-promoting your scrap booking talents?.

Isn't that an eyesore??? I have been complaining for years to DH, asking him to move it somewhere else but he keeps giving me these lame excuses about having to dig up the wiring, climbing on the roof, digging out the cement pad it's sitting on - silly things like that!

“lame”? They sound very plausible to me.

I could see how taking care of Buzz could be a full time job.
My wife has the same problem

We did; it seems every trip is better than the last

Thank you, I am a very lucky Husband and Father

Hey!!! Poor Tinkerboo :(

I don't blame her - let's see some - I'd love to get some more ideas.

Okay I guess I have put this off as long as I can, so here goes the last day of our trip report.

Saturday, January 13th
The Plan:
DTD for final shopping and Earl of Sandwich
Tiffany Town Car to airport
Arrive back in Los Angeles on two different flights between 9:00 and 10:00

Actual
Weather-80’s/Warm

Well nothing to dramatic today, we milled around our room making a half hearted attempt at packing, I say we, but in actuality Sorceress always takes on this responsibility and does a great job, it is better for all parties concerned if I just stay out of the way and let her do her magic.

We headed down to Roaring Fork around 10:30 a.m. to refill our mugs and meet up with the rest of the group that were going to rent water sprites for an hour, we went over to the dock and saw them off

Shivahn280.jpg

Shivahn281.jpg

Shivahn282.jpg

then went and sat on the patio of the pool bar for awhile

Shivahn283.jpg

before we moved down to the beach so we could watch them boating around bay lake,

Shivahn285.jpg

Shivahn287.jpg

Shivahn296.jpg

they would disappear and head over to the Magic Kingdom or the Grand Floridian for awhile then come back over by the Lodge.

Of course our group can’t do anything with out getting in trouble, a lake patrol CM got upset with them about being to close to each other and ended up radioing back to the boat dock to have the CM’s there chastise them as well.

Shivahn297.jpg

Notice the Lake Patrol keeping an eye on them

Now I don’t understand what his issue was, just because they were zipping in and out of each other and turning just in time to send a wall of water over each other. I guess it could have been because when they were bringing the sprites back in Swimlover tried to sink TinkerBoo by using her sprite as a bumper boat.

we all headed up to our rooms for final packing and getting ready for the flight home. We took our luggage down to the lobby around 1:00 p.m. to wait for our Tiffany Town car that was supposed to be here at 3:00 p.m.

Flash, Nugget and Boot Strap were scheduled to fly out on American at 6:30 p.m. with the rest of us on Delta leaving at 6:55 p.m.

We sat around the lobby, some made Roaring Fork runs, some read trash magazines (there was this one article about Jenifer Aniston being seen with a mystery man at Walt Disney World), some watched cartoons, but mostly we were just sad the trip was coming to a close, it had been a great 10 days.

Of course what would one of our trips be without drama at the end, Flash decided to check to make sure that their flight was on time, they were to fly from Orlando to Dallas/Fortworth with a lay over and plane transfer and then on to Los Angeles. Well it turns out that Dallas/Fortworth had ice issues and was closed. So their flight had been cancelled and they were rescheduled to depart from Orlando the next day at 1:20 p.m. on a non-stop flight to Los Angeles.

Well we would have seen this as a sign from the Disney Gods that we were to spend another day at a park, but Flash and Nugget didn’t see it that way they were ready to get home, so after a number of phone calls to Travelocity, which was no help at all, they finally booked tickets on the flight we were on (is this an Omen, Don’t tell Grammy we are all going to be on the same flight), but with one big difference the only seats available were in First Class, OUCH$$$, but they would be home today. So with minutes to spare before our shuttle showed up they were booked on a flight home.

We started to load up the van, there were 9 of us with 14 check bags and 6 carryon’s, it was a big van shouldn’t be a problem, Right? Wrong the guy had another seat (unusable) that was stored in the back and took up a third of the luggage area, so we rode to the airport with bags under our seats and on our laps,

Jesspics198.jpg

but we made it.

We used curb side check in, got our boarding passes and the Sky Cap told us we were cleared through to our gate, but that Flash, Nugget and Boot Strap had been flagged for special screening procedures. Then Eeyore used her sex appeal to get the Sky Cap to over look the fact that her bag was over the weight limit.

So off we headed to screening with the knowledge that most of us were not going to have to have a body cavity search, we all made it through with no problems, it was interesting taking my shoes off with my toe, but I made it. We met up with Flash, Nugget and Boot Strap on the other side, Flash had a really big smile on his face (didn’t ask). We all got on the Airport Monorail and headed to the gates.

We had one more tradition to partake in and that was that on our way out of Orlando we always eat at the Outback Steakhouse located in the airport, so we head over and get a table for 9 (Magic, no Cast Discount though) and enjoy our final meal in Florida at least for this trip. By the time we are done eating, paying the bill and making final bathroom runs we have about 30 minutes before we start boarding.

We had an uneventful flight back to Los Angeles, we arrived and were met by Nugget’s Mother (my MIL) and Flash’s Mother who were picking up Flash, Nugget and Boot Strap,

We hung out by the luggage carousel and started retrieving our bags; Nugget and her clan got theirs and were on their way.

We had gotten most of ours when we found out that one of Indy1’s bags didn’t make it, he found out that it apparently never made it out of Orlando and they would deliver it to his house the next day. We headed out into a very cold night, found the Prime Time shuttle stand and about 15 minutes later were on our way home.

We arrived at my parent’s house about 30 minutes later and transferred our luggage to our van, spent some time with my parents telling them all about or trip, and then we all climbed into a very full van and headed home. We dropped off Eeyore at her Grandparents house, then Indy1 at his house and then we finally got home to our house and two very lonely cats. We dumped the luggage in the living room and headed for our beds. Glad to be home and ready to go back.

If you made it this far I applauded you and hope you enjoyed it. Not sure when our next trip will be, but we are all hoping really, REALLY soon.

Until then we have Disneyland down the block.

Side Note: I did try and get the family up to go to Disneyland the next morning…

Let’s just say it wasn’t pretty

Wonderful last installment. Funny how we both posted them on the same day. Anyway, it looks like everyone had fun on the boats. Not your thing? The last day really is a bummer. I'll be watching for your next trip report, until then start doing mini disneyland trip reports please!~

I too am really, REALLY hoping you all get to go back soon!!!!

Thanks for sharing your story with us Goofster and family

LOL, it sucks when it's all over but that just motivates you to start planning the next one.

Hawaii? No way.

California? Come on! Besides, you live there.

Texas? LOL :lmao:

Nope, it's gotta be Disney in Florida, man.

I love renting boats but alas, I'm the only one :sad2: I prefer the big pontoon boats. Easier to keep track of Moan Boy that way.

Earl of Sandwich = Lurpin' !!!!

Yup, gotta keep those traditions going. Besides: Bloomin' Onion washed down with a Fosters is a nice pre-flight snack. :thumbsup2
