One of my favorite things is to get appetizer samplers for a meal! Usually because I can't decide - so a sampler is perfect for me!

Kudos to you for calling TRex directly and getting in!!! Nicely done!

It sounds like the change of plans worked out for the best. Your food looks so good. I always get the sampler platter like you ordered. Like you said, it's so good but it is so much food.

Your very first review of T-Rex was the first one I saw and I remember you getting that appetizer for your meal and I tried it and I've got it every time since!

IDK why, but I just wasn't feeling Epcot that day. I was thinking we had missed RD and the kids really wanted to swim, and if we stayed at Epcot for very long it would be too cold to swim when we got back, etc.

It all worked out I guess!

I know, I'll have to dig out an old Mr. Potato Head pic and see how much they've grown.

Yep, I have a picture of the kids in front of the Mr Potato Head from every trip except the first one - it was in front of Buzz. They certainly have grown up!

We changed our flights to this weekend. We can only go Sat-Sun. DH doesn't want to take any personal days b/c he's giving his 2 wk. notice tomorrow.

Oh well 2 days in FL is better than no days.

The realtor said we can see about 25 condos in 1 day. So maybe we can have a little down time on Sun. before we fly home that night.

After lunch we headed out to do some shopping!

First we headed over to the West Side.

DTD wasn't too busy that day. DH headed into the Harley Davidson store while the kids and I messed around a bit!

I think the new Splitsville Lanes were to open maybe that week or the following week...

Pretty soon we spotted DH and we drug him over for a pic in the spot we had found!

Up next was the Lego Store! Usually we spend at least and hour to two hours in here. But I had already warned DS11 that wasn't happening this time!! It was only a few weeks before Christmas and I told him he couldn't buy anything he had put on his Christmas list anyway. So he had decided that he was only getting one set this trip.

We were still in there a good bit of time, but probably under 45 minutes. That's got to be a record!!

Then it was onto the World of Disney!

We weren't in there too awful long either. We wanted to get back to the GF so the kids would have plenty of time to swim, after-all that was the reason for skipping Epcot that day! Even on the warm days in December it would get chilly as soon as the sun went down.

But before heading back to the Marketplace bus stop we stopped by The Art of Disney. DH has this one coworker that LOVES Disney! Him and his wife go at least once a year. We were even there at the same time as them once and met up for lunch at AK!

They had been there this past July and he noticed something that his wife really liked and he wanted us to pick it up for him so he could give it to her for Christmas! Is that an awesome husband or what?!! Not even sure exactly what we were looking for we headed in...

And pretty soon we found it! Well we were pretty sure we had found it. So we took pics and texted them to him and sure enough that was it!

So cute! I was so happy to have found it right away for him! Well happy until we were at the Orlando airport trying to get through security with it that is.....But that's a story for later in the TR!

They had all kinds of them. Here's a few more.

We were even able to get him 10% off because we used our Disney Visa!

And with that we headed to the bus stop. I think we waited about 10 minutes or so on a bus, with about 50 other people. So the bus was packed. And even without a stop at Typhoon Lagoon (it was closed for a refurb) the bus ride was still excruciatingly long. Stopped at the West Side at DTD, which took forever. Stopped at the CR, which took even longer than forever , then the Poly, and finally the GF. I told DH that if we went back to DTD on this trip we would be taking a cab!

Look at you, getting into TRex with that phone call! Next thing you know, you'll be telling us you walked up and got in! I don't know if I've ever heard of THAT happening! Your sampler platter looks delicious! I would have probably ordered the same thing. I love having a taste of lots of different things. Whenever we eat out, which is usually seafood, I most always get some type of platter.

Love your DTD pics, especially the boys in front of Mr. Potato Head. They have gotten so big!

We're having crazy January weather, too. No rain, but cloudy and high in the mid 70's.

It looks like it was a nice day in DTD! When we were there over New Year's, that whole area was wall to wall people...oh well, I guess we asked for it! Can't wait to be back there soon!

The Lego store looks like fun...that's good you weren't in there that long this time! We have never been in there. Well, we actually may have been in there once, but the girls had no interest! It looks like a neat store though!

Those pictures are beautiful! And yes, your DH's coworker is an awesome husband! Do you mind me asking around how much those were? If you don't know, no problem. I would love to get one on our next trip!

The bus situation at the GF stinks. I agree with everyone else in saying that I don't know why they don't either just share with the Poly or have their own bus. Those bus trips, especially from DTD take FOREVER!

Just saw a family's vacation video that filmed part of it in this location. I had no idea where it was, until I just saw it on your TR!


Those lightboxes at the Art of Disney store look phenomenal! I would love to buy one some day, probably the castle one. It'll be interesting to hear your airport security story with it...
