Trip Number 9 ~ It's the Most Wonderful Time of Year ~ Christmastime at the GF & Poly

When we came out of there we could hear some music playing, so we walked towards RocketTower plaza and there was a DJ and a Dance Party going on!!

DS13 thought that was great!!

Then we went over to get some ice cream cones!

After that we knew it was getting near the time for them to light up the castle. While we have seen the castle all lit up for Christmas before, we had never seen the actual little show that goes with lighting it.

It was very crowded in front of the castle, so we stayed off to the right side a bit.

Very cute little show. DS11 took a little video. It's a little shaky, but still very good!

Dumbo looked like a fun time. Ya'll just looked so happy and the boys on Buzz looked like they were having the best time.

Okay and so gonna tell Drew to do the High Five to people next time. That is right up his alley.

Sad to say--- I think I have ridden my last Space Mtn ride. It's just too rough and jerky and it hurts my whole entire body anymore. Maybe it's always been that way and I'm just old now. Dear god I have become my Mother.

The DJ was FUN wasn't he? We didn't stay long, bc my kids are too cool to dance in front of people but I can totally see how your kids would love it!!

The castle lighting---- Pure Magic!!!! Love the castle in the lights like that. It takes your breath away it's so beautiful. I could stare at it for hours.

I know. I can't figure out if Space Mtn is getting worse or if I am getting old??? I prefer to blame it on Space Mtn. I honestly don't know if I am going to be able to ride it anymore either. And I LOVE thrill rides. It is just so dang rough. Not even fun anymore.

OMG!! DS13 LOVED that dance party. He didn't want to leave it!! That is totally his thing. And they were playing that stupid Gangnam Style song. DS had been listening to it so much that I about croaked when we walked over there and it was playing!!

The castle lighting was awesome. I'm so glad we were there at the right time and got to watch the little show this time. Pure magic!

I can't believe that SM is too much for you! WOW! I thought I was just being a weenie as usual. I told DH and DD that this past ride that I took back in October was my last. That was the longest 2.5 minutes of my life! When a ride is actually painful... something is wrong!

We love a Disney dance party too! I love it when I can look like a total fool with no worry of ever seeing any of those folks again! That's the best!

How did you guys like the area over by Dumbo? We thought it was super cute over there. When we made it over for the first time and there was a performer who was spinning plates and balancing on chairs. I remember thinking to myself that it was little touches like that that make it truly a magical Disney experience.

Thanks for the update! I always look forward to reading them because know it will be a while before we go back .... we sold off the rest of our points and are going on a cruise to Alaska in May instead. I'm excited to cross another 2states off my list, but I know I will be desperate to go back to WDW in a few months.

Chiming in on the SM thing...it is DEFINITELY rougher...last time I got stuck in the very first seat and let me tell ya~I was really bad off when I got out...my neck and the top of my head were killing me!!! I actually had taken the kids for a while and Mike was back at the resort already...ds13 wouldn't ride it and dd9 was begging so I went with her knowing the whole time that last year it felt totally different...well, I called Mike when I got off and told him he may have to come back and get me!! I really felt bad~like I had Shaken Brain or something..my neck hurt terribly for the rest of the night..sorry to say that I can't ride it anymore..I know about 3 or 4 years ago it was NOT this bad and I hear people commenting on it all the time...even really younger parents,so I really don't think it's OUR age....I wish they would put it back like it used to be....

I have to say, I don't really love the new Dumbo area. I don't know what it is..... maybe just not much for us back there. Maybe themed more for families with younger kids, IDK. It is neat though and I just can't wait to see how it all comes together when the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is done and all the construction walls are down!

Thank you! I am very excited about becoming a TA! The process really didn't take too long to get started. I did all my Disney courses in about 3 days! Yes, I was a bit excited about it!! Just working on some 'practice bookings' now, ordering business cards, and brochures, and things. I even did my first real quote already for someone I know. Hoping they book!

I saw this! I for one, am thrilled. I think DTD has needed something for a long time. I don't necessarily need all the clubs or bars back, but we always find ourselves there for WoD, maybe a quick lunch and one or two other places and then head out. I just think it's really missing something.

I'm excited! I do sort of hope that they bring the comedy club or the Adventurer's Club back. I only got to go to DTD ONCE after I was 'of age' and then all that stuff was gone!

Not really sure how I feel about the new look of the rooms at the Poly. Has anyone else seen them? I have mixed feelings about them I guess. Some people hate them already!! I can't really say that I hate them. Can't really say that I love them either. I know the rooms were in need of a refurb, but I'm not sure about what they have going on now. Maybe I will like them better in person........

When we went to WDW for our Honeymoon eons ago, we did the whole circuit of clubs and had a really fun time. I thought it was a nice place for adults, but I do understand that it got way out of hand. Unfortunately.

As far as the Poly--
