Trip is coming up soon, do I have to purchase AP and DDE card prior to arrival?

I think you can purchase these at GS now without having to do so in advance? Am I right? Any advantage to purchasing in advance? Can I still purchase at GS and get our DVC discounted price? TIA!

You can buy them both at GS now. Very sweet and easy. Take the old ones with you to speed up the process even if they've expired.

We just did this for our APs and our DDE card and were able to purchas at any of the 4 park Guest Services (I think the DDE has to be purchased there) and it did not take long at all.

Depending how soon your trip is, if you plan to go after August 1, I believe buying your AP might be prudent before the price increase. I believe they raised tickets prices August last year. If you're going before then, buy when you get there from GS.

No, you don't have to do that. We just bought ours at GS last month.

Perhaps the CM you were talking with had it mixed up with the dining plans?? Those have to be added 48 hours in advance these days.

We've never bought AP's before getting to Florida, and we've been buying PAP's for years. We have been getting the disount ever since it has been offered on the passes we buy at Guest Services (at the parks). There used to be a (non-DVC) discount on regular tickets if you bought them in advance, but I'm not sure if they still offer that.

As have we except we just do regular APs. Oh, and I once ordered one for will call in order to get the renewal rate for an unexpected trip for one of our sons.

La2kw, I used to buy our APs early for that discount as well and was trying to remember exactly who offered the discount. I think it may have been the Magic Kingdom Club which morphed into something else. Do you remember?
