Trip Insurance

Check out Insuremytrip.com ....there you can compair MANY diffrent companies...cost and coverage. Just remember when you get the quotes back....the quote is for everyone in the group...not per person...but the breakdown for coverage is listed per person. :goodvibes

I second, www.insuremytrip.com. Check prices, compare policies and get the best deal for your family. Many companies also offer children under 16 free. Definitely get it on your own and don't use DCL. It will also cover all expenses, not just the cruise.

I have a question about trip insurance as well. I just went to insuremytrip.com and I'm trying to figure out what to put in for medical coversage. I assume the 50K will do. Is there anything else one should know when entering info for a quote. Travelex gave me two quotes and they look the same but are priced different. Also, I assume I want the package poliicy and not the medical policies listed below. Thanks.

If you booked with points rather than cash, are you forced to use DCL's trip insurance? How would an outside company calculate how much to reimburse us if the cruise were cancelled?

should i go with disneys trip insurance or an out side company

as mentioned above, definitely use an outside company. Don't use the DCL insurance. They will give you better coverage, more coverage and for a lesser cost.

I, too, would assume the 50K coverage would be adequate. That's what we chose. Travelex ussually has two policies that are quoted. One is the Lite policy the other is a more comprehensive policy. The second includes higher coverage amounts for lost/delayed luggage, medical, life, etc. Just check the numbers closely and it will tell you the difference. I went with the Lite and it would have been more than adequate for us when we traveled last January. We didn't need to make a claim, which is great, but the company was fine to deal with when ordering.
