If I'm not allowed to ask this, please delete.

Our PIF date is coming up and I will be purchasing insurance, not through Disney. I have been on insure my trip but there are so many choices. Which one have you purchased and were you happy with it?

Things important to me:
Trip interruption, trip cancelation, baggage delay, evacuation

Since using a insurance comparison site results in multiple choices, I just narrow it down by what coverages they have (how much do they cover) and the costs of the policies.

I also look at the ratings provided to help choose which specific company to go with.

I would suggest you also include medical (that's different than evacuation). Most US heath plans do not cover out of country medical costs.

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to give you the name but we use travel insured, worldwide trip protector, and they cover what you asked about, and yes, we've had to use it. It's been three years, though, so see if you can compare.

I THINK we are allowed to give the company names. (If not, I apologize in advance.) We have used Allianz several times, and claimed on them once (though not a cruise). It worked well for us.

I suggest that whoever you use, you call them directly. When we did that they were able to help us choose between the various coverage options and get everything we wanted. We had three households going (they divide it up by home address, not by cabin), and we wanted to make sure we could cancel all of the trips if one of the persons couldn't go, and also that we could just be reimbursed for the persons who didn't go if the rest did go. They assured us that the policy could be written as such, so we were fine.

Call the company you pick and make sure it covers what you want. Oh, and make sure you know what your health insurance covers in foreign countries. If it is less than ideal, trip insurance can help you with this too!

We used Travel Guard, they have an option specifically for cruises. The trip protection offered from Disney was great for broad reasons for cancellations. But they replace your trip with another. The Travel Guard policy reimburses with funds, just like a homeowners policy. I liked that.
