I am driving from Boston, MA to Burlington, VT with my three kids (9,7,4) and was looking for any possible places/sites to stop along the way. We are from VA and kind of hitting different parts of New England on our summer trip to the grandparents this year. Also any hotel recommendations in Burlington would be great!

Thanks

Nnot sure if you are hitting springfield but the suess memorial park is cool http://www.catinthehat.org/memorial.htm

Aside from that I'm not sure what is on the way. We go to burlington occasionally and usually stay in the Sheraton. Things to do in Burlington that DD loved (she was 8) Vermont Teddy bear factory, Ben & Jerry's and shelburne farms.

Hey there! We live in Central Vermont and often make the trip between Mass and VT. Are you coming up 91 to 89 at White River or 93 to 89 through NH? There are lots of things to do along the way! But depends which way you're coming! :goodvibes

The directions I am getting look like I would be going 93 to 89 - but honestly nothing is set in stone - I am heading up to visit my sister but she is not going to be around until late that night and I want to get out of Boston early on Friday to avoid weekend/end of work day traffic so I was hoping to find stuff to do with the kids to make the drive a little more interesting (and alot longer)!

Ben & Jerry's Factory! Stowe, VT is also a neat little town, not sure there are things there for kids though off season. The Yankee Candle Factory is in S Deerfield, MA but you'd have to travel out of your way most likely, or do a side trip.

We love Shelburne Museum. Our kids also enjoy the Echo Center in Burlington. Tons to see and do. Would take a couple of days to see it all through. We usually stay at the Sheraton or Holiday Inn booked through Hotwire. Neither is anything special but they are clean and convenient. A lot of the ski areas have summer recreation areas with alpine slides, water slides, zip lining etc. I think the best are Bromley and Killington.

Thank you for all the replies - a few of the ones closer to Burlington we have already done in the past - a few I have never heard of before. I am off to start looking at them!

Subscribing, we live in MA and just booked the Trapp Family Lodge Guest Houses with our timeshare in Stowe. Only been to Vermont once for a wedding so this is all new for us.

So far we have planned:
Cabot
Ben and Jerry's
Vermont Teddy Bear Factory (we have a naked Vermont Bear, it came from our builder wearing a shirt that said "there's no place like a *builders name* house! My builder was the biggest jerk and the t-shirt went in the trash!).
Alpine slide
