Trip extending past end of codes.

I am wondering what the policy is on a trip that extends past the end of codes. Say I want to use a code that runs from Aug 15 - Sept 30, but my trip will be from Sept 25 - Oct 2. How would Disney handle the room charges? Could I get the whole trip for the code rate since the stay began during the code rate, or would I have to break up the stay into two reservations? What are my options?

I believe if you check in during the code you will get it for your entire stay!!!

Not really...I've been at Disney tons of times, and sometimes the CM has had to change the codes during the seasons...so you might want to check with the CM upon check in.....

If the code is applicable on your check in day, the it applies to your whole stay.

Yes, you get the code that is applicable on your check in day. Similarly, if your trip goes from a regular season to a value season, you are charged the regular rate for the whole thing. If that's the case, you'll want to do a "connecting reservation" so you can get the value season rate on the first day it is available. We've had to do that on more than one occasion.

There have been some codes (maybe for packages only?) that only extend to the end of the time period. We took a trip in Dec 2003. The discount dates were from Dec 1-26 or something like that. The only package trip we've ever done, but saved us lots of money on the room. Anyway, we could only get the room through a departure date of Dec 26. We stayed from Dec 20-26.

We've used room-only codes (both general and AP) and have been able to extend the trip beyond the last day if we checked in during the dates it was available.
