Trip #8; But Was It Great? A WDW MAYcation with a side of LegoLand & Celebration, FL!

I'm with you on skipping MS. Some years back, (2006?) I was in line for the non-spinning side and when we got to the circles you stand on, I asked one of the older CMs if the ride is kind of claustrophobic. She said yes and I used the chicken exit and left, lol. DGS left with me, but DD stayed and rode. She said it was fine (sure she did... she isn't claustrophobic, lol).
Then in 2009, I waited outside and DD and DGS (10 yrs old at the time) rode the non-spinning side. I'm glad no one expects me to ever go on that thing again. ;)

Oh, that's so nice that you got to ride 'Soarin twice in a row. I love that ride! Aw, TT does look sad. Looks like you guys had a great time at Epcot though. :)

At least the CM was honest with you so you knew not to ride it!!

Soarin twice in a row is awesome! :goodvibes Can't wait for TT to open back up. :cool1:

i have a heart murmur and would NEVER do MS... I did ToT once and it made my heart skip funny for the rest of the day...other people with heart issues have ridden it and said they were fine. I think it just depends,...but forget MS:sad2:

The green version of MS is not spinny, fast, or scary at all. I wouldn't even consider it a thrill ride. It's just when they close that door - what a yucky feeling! :scared:

I guess the orange version is nasty and spinny!

:wave2: Hello from a fellow weather chicken! I'm glad I'm not alone. I hate, HATE thunderstorms - they always wake me up in the middle of the night and then I can't sleep. For me the lightning is the worse.... Don't even get me started about tornado warnings. :scared:

Oh yeah, the lightning scares me to death! It's better when I can't see or hear anything, so if it's bad I go in my closet. The last hurricane we had, I brought my aerobed in there and stayed in it all day and night. DH and the kids were looking out the window at the trees bent over from the wind. No thank you! The weather has been so turbulent all across the country lately! :scared1:

I don't really get nervous or scared by the weather. I find it kind of interesting actually. Maybe I should be a meteorologist when grow up.

The only thing I am scared of is losing my power!! :scared1:

Wonder what Lauren's up to today.............:rolleyes1

I was wondering the same thing and I don't even know Lauren!:rotfl2:
Those pics from the Poly brought back such good memories! I wanna go back so bad. You are so lucky to be going for Christmas. I'm so jealous.
I was talking to DH last night saying if I got a job I wanted to celebrate in Disney! He said oh yeah. I said yeah and that if we needed to we could spend more time over at US/IOA if that would make the trip more pleasurable for him and DS15. We could go to WDW for just a couple of days.
Now all I need is a job!!!!

Lauren's pics are beautiful!!! Hi Lauren!! I'm so glad you love the Poly!

Your view (minus the stupid ugly old nasty behind crane) is perfect!!pixiedust:

So we need more Epcot, Shelly. It's time. :lmao: You know it's never enough for me!!:cheer2:

And yeah--- the M:S thing-- it'll be like normal! We could stand at opposite ends and call each other.:rotfl2:

Hi all! Just leaving AK after a great morning! Beautiful weather, but super humid!

The tour groups are the only "problem" we have run into so far. While waiting to get into the Bugs life theater, they were pushing and shoving. Then, as the theater doors opened, one teenage girl from brazil literally put her hands on me and was pushing me out of the way! All I was doing was trying to stay with my family! I certainly gave her the evil eye!!

We are having an excellent time! Off to DHS again tonight!

Sorry for typos- I'm on my iPhone!

I hope you get a job and can celebrate in Disney!!! :wizard: :cool1:

More Epcot coming up soon!! :woohoo:

Well I hope I don't have to call you from MS this time!! :rotfl:

Sorry about the tour groups. :scared1: They really have no sense of personal space. :sad2:

Glad you are having a great time! :cool1: How was DHS last night?? Apparently good enough to go back tonight! :yay:

I agree with whoever posted earlier about Lauren! I don't know her either and was hoping they were having a great time...and I hate that she is dealing with those tour groups!:crazy2:
Hey Shelly,..are you and Jodi gonna do a dual PTR again?

Weather,..love crazy stormy weather!! It doesn't scare me either...just don't like being out when it is lightning....have an uncle who was struck when I was a kid...soooo... I don't play around with it.. I would loooove to be a storm chaser....hate when we get hurricanes only if our power goes out too!!! Gotta have it in this terrible heat & humidity!!!!! Otherwise, the weather with a hurricane is pretty fascinating!!!

I know, I remember those tour groups from our January trip. :scared1: Hopefully Lauren is not running into them too much. :wizard:

I don't know if we are going to do a dual PTR again or not. Hadn't really talked about it yet. Maybe!! If I ever get this TR done!

I know, I think I could be a storm chaser too. It is all very fascinating!! Yes, other than when the power goes out. I need my electricity!! ::yes::

Looks like a great start to your Epcot day :) I always love seeing the pics of entering through WS - Sooooo peaceful. I would love to enter through there one day instead of being smashed in with the masses.

Hope DS got over his fear of Maelstrom.

Hey Shelly

I feel behind in all my DIS threads but finally caught up on yours this morning. I can't believe that CM at the train station. I am sure someone reported him. Omg loved your first attempt at Tonga Toast :rotfl2:

I had an ADR for Tony's again this trip but switched to LTT since we have yet to eat there of course if I can get one for BOG on our MVMCP night I will be changeing again;)

Glad you enjoyed Tony's, we liked it too but I can see why many do not care for the sauce, my eldest son would have had a fit seeing the onion in it :rotfl:

Love the pic of your family with Minnie & Mickey and the boys with the princesses were great!

Hello  Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!! :goodvibes It's a beautiful sunny day here and 82 degrees -- perfect! :thumbsup2

Hope your having a great time at WDW Lauren! pixiedust:

It was a great morning at Epcot. ::yes:: It's so nice to enter back there. So quiet and not crowded!!

Maelstrom is coming up next!

Hey Sheila! I have been wondering what you have been up to.

Oh yes, wasn't my first attempt at Tonga Toast lovely?!:laughing:

We've never done LTT. I've heard it's good, there's just not much there that the kids would like. I was looking at the BOG menu and I'm not sure there's much there for us either. So we may just end up at Tony's again! :upsidedow

Thanks, we got some really good character pics that night! :)

Hey... I've been away but I'm all caught up now! Your DHS day looked very productive... it reminded me of all the things I have yet to do at DHS! Those milkshakes at Dockside look delicious! Thanks for letting us know that they are the same from Sci-Fi! That event you saw in the morning did look very pretty!

I'm glad you liked your Tony meal. I found the food to be good there but the service was so rushed when we went. To their credit it was rush hour for dinner so I understood.

What was up with CM... I always makes me so sad to hear about rude, and unpleasant CMs. Mostly because some people visit once or maybe twice and it can really ruin the whole experience.

I love Malestorm so I can't wait to read about what happened with your DS.

Well toot.

I haven't seen a BOG menu. And I just want you to know my brain cells were on overload trying to figure out what that abbreviation meant. I mean, they are always on overload but I think that my brain was smoking on that one.:headache:

*rushes off to find the menu....*

Holy cow they have Quinoa!!!! I can eat that!!!!

Okay back to read more.:lmao:

Hey! Glad you are all caught up. Yep that event set up looked pretty cool - wish we were invited!! :rotfl:

I did find Tony's a bit rushed now that you mention it. But really that is okay. It's not like they were telling us to leave or anything, but at the same time everything was done VERY quickly. I bet we were only in there about 45 minutes.

I know, I really hope someone got his name and reported his grumpy behind!!:headache:

You know, the first time I saw 'BOG' I was like -- what the heck is that??? :confused3:rotfl:

I don't even know what that is!!

:rotfl2:

When we were done in Mexico we moved on to Norway. Remember the little deal the boys had from the day before when DS13 rode the HM and DS10 in turn promised to ride Maelstrom??? Well he was determined to stick to his promise. He was very nervous. He hadn't rode it for several years because he remembered not liking going backwards and the big drop. He stuck to his promise, rode it, LOVED it, and rode it again!!! :cool1:

And even made a pin trade in the middle of all that!

So I am happy to report that he conquered his fear of Maelstrom and we now have one more ride that we can all enjoy together! :goodvibes

Next up was China. We were all getting hungry and we took a look at the CS place there, but that was a big fat NO! :scared1:

Next we came upon Germany. And of course couldn't resist stopping in the caramel store, again! Not a good place to shop when you are hungry!! :rotfl:

We picked up a few snacks to enjoy after lunch and then moved on.

Pretty soon we were coming upon America. We were all very hungry by now, so we ended up going to the Liberty Inn for lunch. We had never been there before.

It wasn't too crowded at all and we were able to order right away and find a seat with no problem!

DH got the Grilled Chicken flatbread with fries. DS10 and I shared the adults Chicken Breast Nuggets and fries. And DS13 got the kids mac & cheese with grapes and a cookie.

And we all shared our snacks we had picked up in Germany.

This was the first time we have ever been disappointed in anything from the caramel store. That cookie and brownie tasted like they had been sitting there for days. Not fresh as all. The choc & caramel covered pretzel was very good though!

As for the Liberty Inn:

Rating: 8 out of 10
Total Bill: $22.79
