I was up at 6:20 a.m. The weather people were projecting a high of 92. They were close with the actual high of 93. I had breakfast in my room and left for the MK arriving around 9 a.m.
Most of the rides were a walk on. I did Splash Mtn., BTMRR, Buzz, Peter Pan, Snow White and for the first time ever in all my trips The Carousel, Dumbo and Aladdin. I finished up by having the one and only Dole Whip!
While I was in the Castle area a group of 4 men were playing music. Each one had a sign with a number hung around his neck. There was a 1, 2, 3 and 5. I couldn't resist it and after they were through playing I asked where 4 was. They put their heads together and woefully said Corporate Downsizing. I nearly fell over I was laughing so hard. Wonder if the Disney management knows about that part of the act??
On the way out I watched the end of the Castle show. Then it was back to the hotel and the first of several interactions with young children. There was a 6-year-old boy on the bus with his parents. He struck up a conversation with me. By the time we got to The Beach Club, I basically knew his entire family history. I finally said to his mother, is he going to be a politician? She said to him, tell the lady what you want to be when you grow up. In perfect English he informed me he wanted to be a Pediatrician and had since he was 4 years old. Wow, most kids that age couldnt even pronounce that word. He was a cutie pie.
After lunch it was my pleasure to enjoy Storm Along Bay for the afternoon. Speaking of lunch, I had it at B&C and while I was there I got to see a boy of about 9 help make the famous Kitchen Sink. When he and the waitress had finished, she showed it off to the entire place and said how he had helped. Everyone applauded.
I spent about 2 hours at SaB. The water was much more refreshing today and I really enjoyed it. I went down the slide 5 times!
I went back to the room to rest but didn't sleep. I had told Chris and Jen that I'd meet them at MGM at 4:30. On the morning news they had said there would be a launch from the Space Center around 6 p.m. and I really wanted to see it. Several years ago I did get to see a launch. I was at EPCOT and I knew exactly where to look if the opportunity ever came up again. That was why I wanted to be there.
I had called the kids twice but they weren't in the room. Even though I had left a message each time, I wasn't sure if they had gotten it or not and I didn't want to leave them waiting for me. So I set off for MGM on the scooter, hoping I could get back to EPCOT in time to see the rocket go up.
I scootered over to MGM around 4 taking the BW path. Things worked out great. They were there and we all decided to meet back at EPCOT for the 7 p.m. Raiders show. They left by bus and I went back using the path again. I hung around by Canada watching and waiting and waiting and waiting. No Launch! Not sure what happened. Maybe I'll hear something about it on the news.
Back to the American Theater, Chris and Jen showed up and I watched my 5th Raiders show. The kids enjoyed it so much that we all stayed for their final performance. I'm telling you, I would book another trip around seeing this group. They are fantastic!!!
The kids left to go back to their hotel. They'll be leaving tomorrow. I stopped in front of Morocco and watched RoE and then headed back to the BC. Did a bit of packing. I move to Coronado Springs in the morning. Lights out at 11:30.
High Points: Lack of people at the MK. SaB and the slide. The path between the hotel and MGM. The mother duck and her 8 babies at EPCOT. The Dole Whip!
Low Points: No rocket launch. All the stops the BC bus makes. The Heat! The bug bites that continue to itch like crazy.
Weird Points: Talking to the 6-year-old very articulate boy on the bus coming back from the MK. Going on the Carousel, Dumbo and Aladdin for the first time in 14 trips.
Best Point: Paul Revere and the Raiders!!
