Hello everyone!

Thought I would share with everyone the trials and tribulations I have encountered trying to get an AP while living in the USA:

I will be in DLP on May 27 - May 29, and tried to order my dream AP over the phone so I could then book my hotel using the discount (typically 10%). BUT, I was told they are doing things differently now, and you can no longer order your AP (Fantasy, possibly, but definitely NOT the DREAM pass) over the phone OR online (if you do not live in France). You must request a brochure (which is in French) be MAILED to you which will have a form at the back for ordering an AP. You fill in the form and MAIL it back, then they will send you a confirmation number for your AP. You can use the number to call and reserve your hotel room. The whole process can take MORE than two weeks, so I am keeping my fingers crossed that there will be hotel space available on Disney property by the time this all works out!!

The girl I spoke with on the phone was very nice (we spent 30 minutes on the phone - hate to get this bill!) and tried talking with everyone she could including her supervisor - and she even called the AP office there and this was the best that could be done.

As the price I was quoted for my hotel room, plus my AP was CHEAPER than the on-line booking for hotel room with length of stay (for my 2 night, 3 day stay), I definitely want to go the AP route (I may even be able to get back within the next year!!).

So, keep your fingers crossed for me! I hope they won't run out of hotels for that weekend!!!!!!

good luck.. :tink: They certainly don't like making things easy do they? :confused3

You are so right!
This process does not acknowledge current technology - the least of which would be a FAX for the form!

The girl did mention that the AP when ordered (through the brochure) must be "activated" within two months, or it "expires". So, in order to do this, you cannot even begin the process until just a little over 2 months to your trip!

I'm a bit concerned - but am hoping that the pixie dust is with me and there will be no problems. Otherwise, I may arrive in France with no place to stay!!

:tink:

Sorry to hear that you had such difficulties. I still think DLP considers that the market for AP is still in France and hence has not even translated the guide into other mainland European languages. Obviously the park management are keen to push packages :)
