Trick or Tweet! The Lurkyloos Do F&W, etc: 11/8 Last Day at WDW!

First off, I think it is a fantastic idea if you go to japan for Halloween. Shoot I think he would cause such a commotion you might actually get in trouble. Everyone will think he is a cast memeber :rotfl:

Second, did you notice you are 50 posts away from 10,000! I bet you have but I wanted to update your readers on your soon to be accomplishment. talk about being a great member of the Disney community. I know I have benefited from your knowledge and stories you have shared THANKS!

Third, you are right it did get busy. Such great pictures of the parade it makes me wish we had not missed it. I had choose to wear hooker boots last year (dumb idea) and my feet were killing me so we had to bail. We will be there again in 2013 so I will make it up to him then.

Mr Hightower cutting a rug made me giggle, but the thrusting cowboys...:rotfl: wow. I don't get the dance parties either. Maybe if the kids were with us?

So what'd you dress up as this year?

Love, love, love as always the Roots photos of the Halloween party.
Your costumes were awesome & you can just tell what a great time you guys were having being in character.
I agree about the Headless Horseman. In years past, I have tried in vein to get a decent picture....I think it was our 3rd MNSSHP before I actually got a picture of him that wasn't just a blur. In that video, he appears to be going much slower than I ever remember him going in the past.

:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:HAPPY Halloween!!!:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

If you're interested, check out my Twitter feed for pictures from our 2 days spent decorating Dick Van D-y-k-e's house for the holiday! And for the complete story of how the heck we got started decorating Dick Van D-y-k-e's house for Halloween, click HERE!

HOLY BUCKETS!!! I just had to pick my jaw up off the floor!! Now I am
soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
jealous of you guys! Dick Van Dyke and James Cameron how did that fall into your lap. NO FAIR!! But really how awesome is that. I'm going to go cry in a corner that wasn't me ::sulks away:: Mumbling something about if you need extra hands next year I'd gladly fly out with my fiance, give us a reason to go to DL since he has never been

The videos seriously made me laugh out loud... Patricks facial expressions in the first video are priceless. funny stuff!!

Hey, thanks! I noticed that the other day and thought, "I wonder if now the Tag Fairy will pick me some more, uh, sensical tags!!" :cutie:

Oh my gosh, there is nothing worse than tramping around a theme park in uncomfortable shoes. I think I may have been wearing the Wild West Bordello version of your hooker boots... :rotfl:

A corporate drone. :teeth: Hopefully next year I'll be more inspired!

Well that's good—I guess he may be less thrilling, but at least he's photographable!

Oh my gosh, he HAS to go to DL, Dick Van Dyke or no. Make it so! :snooty::rotfl:

He's such a ham... ;)

Best Halloween costumes and pictures - EVER! :worship:

Well, thanks! :goodvibes

After our exhausting tour of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, it was nice to sleep in a little on our last day. We woke up to our glorious view for the last time, which I will document here in not one but THREE photos…

Breakfast for me…
DSC02622.jpg

Actually, that was just breakfast dessert. My sensible first course was French toast sticks and ham from the Beach Club Marketplace.

Breakfast for Patrick… a slightly more sensible bowl of cereal with caramel corn in it!

Another look at our MNSSHP candy haul
DSC02624.jpg

Somehow we managed to squish all our stuff into 2 suitcases and a box to ship (which the Yacht & Beach Club’s Ikon business center charged us $47 for – ouch!!!). Then we checked our bags at the airline desk and went into Epcot so that Patrick could trade pins at Walt Disney World’s only remaining official pin-trading station (now that Disney has rousted the pin sharks at Downtown Disney Marketplace).

Who has time to sit in these?

Here, let me save you some money on purchasing the official biography of Duffy The Disney Bear (tm).

Poor Duffy was hanging out in his character meet and greet pavilion all alone, so we took pity on him and pretended we wanted a photo op.

“There, there, Duffy, don’t cry. Maybe some Japanese tourists will come along and know who you are!”

DSC02641.jpg

“See, Duffy—what did I tell ya?!”
DSC02643.jpg

We had some time to kill before our Via Napoli lunch reservation, so we wandered around taking exactly two photos. Looks like we were going for some kind of “Where in the World Are We?” contest with these!

I am not particularly interested in pizza but wanted to try this new restaurant just for YOU, dear reader. I was surprised at how bland the interior décor was—it was more the way I thought La Hacienda de San Angel would be but wasn’t. Via Napoli’s kinda just a big box. I did like how light it was in there, I just miss the level of detail you see in other World Showcase restaurants.

I had a hard time deciding what to get to best be able to rate the food. I ended up getting the Lasagna Al Forno, which was nice and hot and cheesy but not worth $20. Patrick got the $16 Quattro Stagioni personal pizza, which he really liked, and a Strawberry Aqua Fresca.

We liked our meal but it was WAY overpriced. I can’t believe the Patina Group charges the same prices at their Florida restaurants as their California restaurants. Even Disney doesn’t do that. There was nothing particularly appealing on the dessert menu, so we decided to save some dough and get gelato at the cart out front instead.

Then we hopped on a boat to Mexico to pick up Donald piñatas for Patrick’s cousin and my pal Wazzo.

This picture totally just made me miss Epcot!

And that appears to be the final shot from our trip… But it ain't over yet!

Up Next: Mickey's Halloween Party at Disneyland!

…Cuz we're all still interested in Halloween… right?

The decor in Via Napoli does seem a bit bland. From the pictures I've seen, it sort of seems like they're relying on the aqua fresca containers for their little pop of color, which is certainly pretty, but the beverages shouldn't have to serve as tasty refreshments AND art!

Thanks for the review of Via Napoli! :thumbsup2 We're eating there for the first time in December (it seems like you knew what ADR's I was going to be making and thought "Hmmm...here it is...two years before Kim's trip. I wonder what places she would like for me to try and review for her..." and to that I say "thank you" :cutie:). Every picture I've seen of the place doesn't get me excited about the atmosphere, but I'm glad we're trying it nonetheless. I like warm and cozy in my WDW restaurants, not airy and/or sparse.

I love a good cake appetizer for breakfast! :lovestruc

Can't wait to read more! WAIT!!! WHAT?!? Does this mean.....that's it????? No more lurkyloo TR's to read after ONE. MORE. POST (which may or may not be broken into 4 posts ;))????? Say it ain't so!!!:sad1:

Oh how awesome! Two Halloween parties... brilliant, I say brilliant! can't wait to see how they compare :surfweb:

You're TR is almost over? Say it ain't so Carrie! Say it ain't so! And am I mistaken or was there no mention of when you and Patrick ran into Chauncey and I in World Showcase after we both partook of Food and Wine at the same time (oh that rhymed!)? I thought we were closer than that, I mean we do share Vanilla Ice and Danger Frog :lmao:

:rotfl: "Aqua Fresca: It's a drink! It's a decor element! It's a drink AND a decor element!!!"

I guess going home day isn't as bad when you know you are going right back to Disneyland when you get there. :teeth:

Exactly! :thumbsup2

:rotfl2: Don't you worry—I am so far behind on trip reports that I will NEVER be done. So far I have our anniversary trip, the Social Media Moms/Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings press junket trip, and Destination D backlogged, and I may or may not be doing a banzai run to WDW in a few weeks. :ssst: The problem is, it takes me so long to write these dang things, that I worry they won't even be relevant by the time I get them finished. I'm thinking of just breaking those trips out into recaps of the actual events, rather than slogging through every aimless trip around World Showcase, annoying moment at check-in, Duffy-tipping incident, etc. :scratchin

Oh how awesome! Two Halloween parties... brilliant, I say brilliant! can't wait to see how they compare :surfweb:

It was quite a contrast—we were surprised!

Oh man, the whole time I was writing this I was thinking, "Didn't we run into Rachel & Chauncey at the pin-trading station in Epcot?" but I couldn't find photos of all of us. I didn't want to just make it up and have you be like, "Uh, we were on a plane that day, crazy lady..." :teeth:

Funny with all the hotties (aka Via Napoli servers) running around the place, I never noticed the restaurant as having a dull interior. :rotfl2: I preferred to think of it as soothing.

Patrick's pizza looks A-Mazing! They do have a nice sangria there and I got this cute little dessert for my birthday.

Your room really had a gorgeous view. what's not to love about that?

I know I missed a lot of this TR, so I think I better go back and read and see the gorgeous pictures.

Now I don't know if I want to eat at Via Napoli. I might have to try it, but it doesn't look that appealing to me. I guess I like pretty food. I can't believe that your report is almost over with! Hopefully you have a lot of other things in the pipeline.

That's because we never got a picture together (that I remember), you did take a picture of Chauncey and I on your phone and Tweeted about our meeting. Hard to believe considering Patrick and I were both toting around the exact same camera  Next time we cross paths we're getting a picture!

Whoa... what is that thing?!

And how! Now the trouble is deciding which trip to write about next!

ARGH!!! I used a bunch of different Twitter search engines, but none of them would turn up the shot I tweeted! OK, next time we are definitely getting a shot—with BOTH our cameras!
