Hi all! :wave2:
I am taking my 2 year old trick or treating tomorrow night. Haven't been in about 12 years or so....anything I need to know? Has anything changed since then? :confused3

Thanks!

For a 2 yo, just a I would only do few houses very close to your's so not to overwhelm the little guy. The rule around here is only ring the bell of houses that have lights on. Other than that, have fun!

I would say go a little early when it is still a little light out side. also only go to the houses with lights on and maybe only a few houses.

What everyone else said & check to see if your city has set time limits.

I know ours does. It's usually 3-7 or 8 (I forget but everyone is done by 8:00 here, we turn off the lights).

The rule here is, if the porch light is on then they participate, otherwise no.

My son ends up going to lots of houses by default having the older siblings. Last year at 2 he was in the stroller. We went out for about an hour, came back home for supper & then my kids didn't want to go back out. I was going to take the older ones back out but the 1 hour was more than enough for the 2 year old. He probably would have stopped sooner but we had to get back home, so were going to houses on the way back.

For a 2yo, I agree with the others: just go to a few houses of neighbors you know. Although be prepared, I've found that my neighbors get so tickled over the little ToTers that they give extra candy! :rotfl: Yeah, like my 2yo needs to eat his weight in peanut butter cups. ;)

Also, does he say "trick-or-treat" and "thank you" yet? We've been practicing. My 2yo knows "thank you" and we've been working on "trick or treat" for a couple of weeks. So hopefully, he'll come through tomorrow night. It's always so iffy with 2yo. You never know what they'll actually say and if they'll cooperate.

He is very good about saying thank you! (proud mommy  ) I have been working on trick or treat....but he has this problem of only pronouncing the last word in a phrase so when he says it it sounds like "mumble mumble treee!"

Thanks everyone. The plan is to go to my mom's house first, so she can see the grandkids dressed up. Then we are going to trick or treat in my Dad's neighborhood(not too far from our house, and their area is better lit than ours). We were only going to go to the houes right next to his. I will post some pics tomorrow, Kurt jr is going to be Superman and Aiden is going to e a tiny Tigger!

It's always colder than you think it will be. Be prepared. And have fun!!
