trick or treating off-site

Hey everybody,
Me and my family (husband, DD8 and DS 3) will be renting a house off-site this October. We will actually be at WWD over Halloween. We wanted to attend the Halloween party at WWD but just cannot justify the additional cost. Does anybody know of an alternative off-site location like Celebration or some other community? It seems as the one that we are staying (Windsor Palms) is mainly vacationers.

We were there last Halloween. We attended MNSSHP on a night other than Halloween. On Halloween we trick or treated at DTD. We had fun, the kids decorated cookies, there were stilt walkers and a DJ. There are also activities at the Boardwalk.

It's been a few years since we've been there on Halloween, but Downtown Disney always hosted a terrific party. There is a dj with dancing for the little ones and all of the stores have candy to give out. Some characters also wandering around.

Sea World also has some special weekends for Halloween. You could get admission there for about what MNSSHP would cost and do the park as well.

Sheraton Vistana also hosted a Halloween party the last time we were there, so your resort may as well.

I'd grab a newspaper when I got into town to see what community activities might be going on.

Downtown Disney is great. It is free....you'll get mostly the same candy over and over again...but hey--it's free! WE liked it when we did it with DD when she was little. I'm afraid that MNSSHP is just too crowded and too late. We could start early before dark and just bop around the stores.

West side does it as well--but by the time we got over there it was hit or miss.
