Anyone been to Trex lately??? in September we ate at Rainforest and my DH loved it. We will be going to Orlando to Sea world June 6th and we thought we would try Trex this time since they are owned by the same people...

when would be a good evening to go? and do you think we should make a reservation? We wont be on any kind of timeframe since we are just doing Sea World this time and can hop to DTD anytime and shop and hang out!

Any input is appreciated...
Thanks!

We had lunch there last week. It was awesome!! Husband and I shared the nachos and thought that they were great! Saw a couple besides us trying to eat some HUGE burgers. Probably 6inches in height!

"There are several different seating areas: The Ice Cave that is covered with "ice" and "snow" and changes colors during the meteor showers but mostly stays blue. The Kitchen of Fire area features woolly mammoths and pterodactyls, and the namesake rotisserie over fire. The Fern Forest, which is towards the back of the restaurant and is a little quieter (compared to the rest of the restaurant), has most of the herbivore dinosaurs and lots of greenery. And, the Coral Reef area is topped by a huge octopus flailing its tentacles over the bar with enormous “floating” prehistoric sea creatures, and a few real sea creatures in an aquarium."

We sat in the Kitchen of Fire I think ;) Great place for meteor showers (every20minutes). The Ice Cave area looked fun to eat in but I think it would drive me crazy after 10minutes. Plus, we would have to buy glow drinks for the kids.

If you loved Rainforest, I think that you would love Trex.

We have been twice...June and Dec of last year.
DS7 loves anything and everything that has to do with Dino's so he loves it. The atmosphere is really fun (and yes, LOUD). The food is 'meh' at best and waaaay overpriced. The have a great gift shop (shocking, I know;)) and a fun place outside to dig in the sand for dinosaur bones.
It is a fun (but expensive) dining experience with average food but big portions.
:)
You may want to consider making ADR's. Both times we have been it was crazy busy. You can get the phone# from the Landry's website. You can call them direct to make your reservations.

We were there two weeks ago and it was great! This time we were in the ice room. Last time we were in the water room. Anyway, the food was good, the service was good, and we all had a great time. Any evening would be good. I would definitely make a reservation. We did and walked right in while others were in a long line. Call the number directly if there are none available on the WDW dining site.

We ate there last week and loved it. We were quite surprised by the quality of the food. The atmosphere is awesome!
Bit overpriced but well worth it.

Cool...I am very excited now!! So what room would be good with a 3 year old who says she will be scared but am sure she will be fine when she gets used to it...she did good at Rainforest? Also do you think I would be able to call a few days in advance for reservations??? or should i go ahead and pick a night and call???

Thanks Again!

If you think she may be scared, I would suggest the water room over by the bar. It's closer to the store area and not so immersed. This last time, we were in the ice room. It was nice, but it takes some getting use to with the color of the lights (hard to see the menu), the "lightning storm" and the changing of the lights.

We were there at the end of March and loved the food. The burger was to die for IMO. We got there right when it opened for lunch and walked right in. The restaurant was virtually empty and we got to walk around and look at all the dinosaurs. It is very colorful and LOUD, but nice to say you've been to something that interesting and unique!

We went in March and loved it. We had to make a reservation because we were 25. ( It even had to be a "group sales" ) so I can't really say. But it did look pretty busy when we were there on a Thursday evening.

Have been to both RFC and Trex and even tho both are owned by same company we liked the food at Trex better

I have reservations at T-Rex on July 10, 2010.

My party includes my mom, niece 11 and nephew 8.

I wanted to call back and request a specific "room".

Can anyone recommend the best area to sit.

Both the Ice Room and the Kitchen Fire areas seem nice, but wanted some input before I called T-Rex to request a certain area.

Thanks!!!!!
