DH really like TRex. Wondering if maybe Rainforest is better? And which location?
Any opinions?

My son liked T-Rex better, and the food was definitely better, at least when we went.

The Rainforest at the AK does a nice breakfast though. We've done it before the park opens the last couple of years.

I have eaten at Rainforest Cafe. Never at T-Rex. I would suggest T-Rex because it is original to Disney. You can find Rainforest Cafes all over the country.

I have eaten at all 3 of them. They are all the same. The food has been good each time we have gone. Last time was in 2009, we at at TRex for my DS's b-day and then at Rainforest in Animal Kingdom. If you haven't tried T-Rex - I recommend it. It is just as cold sitting there as it is in Rainforest - bring a sweatshirt, sweater something to keep warm as the airconditioning is always blasting away.

If you only wish to go to one of them I vote for T-Rex. The theme is great and we enjoyed the food.

I wish you a great meal at whichever restaurant you choose.

We have eaten at both several times. Honestly, it comes down to which *theme* appeals to you most. They are both owned by the same company so the food is basically the same. :)

My family enjoyed Trex more, love the atmoshpere here but I still have a favorite sandwich @ RF. The Plant Sandwich but I have that when I visit Atlantic City's RF. So since I only get to visit Trex when in Orlando thats what we choose.
Trex has an excellent ravioli dish.

I am going to be different and say Rainforest Cafe. My kids like T Rex but I am claustrophobic and the tables are packed in way to close for my comfort.

I'd have to say go with T-Rex. We've eaten at both places at DTD and I think T-Rex has better food. The portions were very large too. My husband and I split an entree and it was so large neither of us could finish it. The atmosphere is a lot of fun too. But whatever you choose you'll have fun. They're both a neat place to eat.

odd man out here.....i prefer the rainforest. t-rex just didn't do it for me and i found the food at rainforest better. honestly, each person is going to have a different thought so go with what you feel would best fit your family.

Hey, alot of the time it's when you go, who was serving, who was cooking etc....

My son just loved the ice changing colors at T-Rex though! :woohoo:

We just returned and did both. Did RFC at AK.

We loved T-Rex and thought the food was a little better there. Both were good though. I know I've read some reviews on these boards about RFC not having good service and poor quality food. We had no problems with either restaurant, service was very good at both.

I would choose TRex over RFC.
Although we have only eaten at TRex once.
I ordered a fish (fish n chips? :confused3 ) meal for lunch and it exceeded my expectations. I would return to TRex for that alone.
You might want to consider buying the Safari Club membership prior to eating there.

This is good to know as the Rainforest at AKL was terrible and expensive. There will be no T Rex in our future and appreciate the heads up.:thumbsup2

I have been to both & feel the food is better at T-Rex. Comparable as far as theming. Good Luck with your decision!:thumbsup2

I actually like the appetizer selection better at T-Rex. I like the entree selection better at Rainforest. The desserts are pretty much the same, and really good. When I go, if I only want appetizers and dessert it's T-Rex. For food selection, I go to Rainforest. Just remember, both can be a bit pricey for families.:surfweb:

As with PP's, it also depends on the atmospohere you want. I have not been to RFC in Orlando in a while because I was disappointed with the food, but I love the one in Anaheim. I might give them another try in Orlando to see if it has gotten better.

Had RFC at WDW about 6 years ago and it was just OK. The thunder storm freaked my son out. We had to take him outside every time it started.

Went to a local RFC last year in the Northeast and the food was just about inedible. Now we have 2 kids and both were freaked out by the thunder storm.

Went to TRex in WDW in Feb and had the best meal we had the entire trip. It was fabulous. Maybe partly because we were expecting it to be bad. Great salads, great dessert. And we were there on a busy Saturday night. My husband is pushing to go back the next trip. Meanwhile the meteor shower is not as intense and the kids were fine with it. Both have asked not to go back to RFC.

thanks!
Think we are gonna go with TRex. I tried making an ADR but it wouldnt let me. Is this that restaurant you need to call directly to make an ADR? Last time we went we got a walk up. Maybe I just chance it?
