So we just booked our Mardi Gras trip in a THV. Two friends are coming with us who have never been to Disney. I have heard they are pretty far out from civilization etc.

Main reason we booked was the space. Three bedrooms is awesome to us! Can those who have stayed there give me some scoop?

Details about getting around, getting to the parks etc.?

We love BWV for their convenient location etc., so this will be a very different experience for us.

Thanks all!

Yes, they can only be accessed by pack mule! :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: Just kidding!

They are part of SSR (as you know) and near DTD and OKW, though not near the theme parks like BWV, BLT & BCT they share the same bus transit system to and from the parks as any other resort. You'll have access to SSR, the Turf CLub etc. by bus!

We just stayed in the THV for the first time in June. We had invited another family and with their kids we were at a total of 9. The three bedrooms for our group was great! We all really liked the THV except the use of the internal buses made ALL of our bus rides extra long. I will probably not book the THV because of the location unless we have a need to house another family with 9.

I was also not a big fan of the new DVC boat ramp in DTD. We usually shop in the marketplace and so waiting for another boat to go from the DVC ramp to the marketplace again took a lot of extra time.

The THV's are nice but probably not our cup of tea with the extra transfer time. Just my opinion.

I wonder if this is the best place for us??? Or if we need to book somewhere else???

We stayed a week for spring break this past year in the tree house and loved it. Whenever we went anywhere, we drove though b/c you would need to take a bus to ssr and then catch a bus to the park. We never went to the parks at all and enjoyed spending time at the tree house. They are very quiet and peaceful.

They are wonderful! And if you can't bring your pack mule(:thumbsup2), the boat launch, bus stops and walking path to SSR are nearby. We absolutely loved it there. :goodvibes

We were just at the THV last month, and adored them! The space was wonderful!

I'd just say to ask for a TH closest to the path from the Grandstand. We had 7035 and it was .25 mile walk to the Grandstand bus stop, which is the first one the park buses come to. We never took the THV bus, but we also had a car that we used to get to the parks. Our relatives were staying in Grandstand area (in fact, we could see their balcony from our deck!) and it was no prob to walk to meet them, walk to the bus stop and head to the parks. We did take the boat once from the TH dock to DTD. I liked the new boat dock - DS could go to Ridemakers while I took the girls to WoD and Little MissMatched! There is also a beautiful walking trail from the TH to the West End side of DTD, which we used many times.

We are walkers, so none of that bothered us. Our TH was .5 miles from the main pool, and that didn't faze our kids in the least. We were also right across the street from the TH pool, and of course the Grandstand pool was close by as well. We had a gorgeous view of the golf course, and we really liked the quiet secluded feel after a day in a crowded park!!
