Treehouse Villas & Bus stop

I agree! An expanded food court would be great especially for those of us that stay in the Studios and don't necessarily eat in their rooms.
Think they need a foodcourt like there is at the Allstars

Don't worry by the time the Treehouse guests hike to the main building, breakfast will be over.;) Sorry could not resist, but I know how so many complained about the location of Carousel being soooo far away, it is nothing compared to the Treehouses.
I was thinking ths too
when we stayed at the Carousel only used the bus once and it took us over an hour to get to MK :scared:
we even ended up taken the car to the main pool and the food court
not out of lazest but because we wanted to get there quickly and not have to drag the kids on a 15 minute walk
Whole time would have been a nightmare with out the car
this is one of the reason that has put us off staying at the THV

I agree! When the inevitable "it was such a looooooooooooong walk to our treehouse!!!" threads inevitably appear, I'm not going to have a whole lot of sympathy. :rotfl:

No. No plans for golf cart rentals.

I don't know how things were handled in the old Disney Institute days when they did offer rentals, but I think there is just too much foot & bus traffic at the resort now to add golf carts to the public sidewalks and roads. There may be some roadways / paths were were not built with cart traffic in mind. Could really damage the landscaping with reckless guests veering off the paths to avoid those on foot. And cart parking would be an issue, too.

The golf carts were the best part of the old Treehouses. Especially if you were on the Gold Key Plan and all the boats/carts were included. You plugged the cart into the treehouse to charge the battery. When you went to a restaraunt there were plugs there to plug the golf cart in. You used the golf cart paths, or drove on the side of the road. You were basiclly cutting through the golf course. It was a golfing community.

We make sure we stay at Congress Park when we go to SSR and always walk to DTD (you can then get a bus to the resorts if wanted).

Will we be able to walk to DTD from the treehouses?

If they add the Tree Houses to the SSR route I sure hope they add some extra buses. We were there in January (at the Springs) and I don't know how many times buses just passed our stop (in the mornings) because the buses were already full from earlier pickups. We had at least two one-hour waits in the morning; that's just unacceptable IMO.

:sad2: wow... and here i thought they kinda fix this problem a little between my 2 vacation past year.. I know exactly how you feel.

wow, thats a long wait for buses. no wonder i do not really want to stay there. they really should put more buses on that route. that would provide a few more jobs.:drive:

do you think thats the reason so many people want to sell their ssr pts.?:sad1:

thats #1 reason i am

I haven't seen this on the thread yet...have you seen people who park at DTD and walk to SSR to use the bus and save parking fees at the parks?

I have a simple solution. Rent a vehicle ! The bus transportation works out OK during the slower times but if you travel to Disney in the busy season having your own transportation is a must do.

This doesn't work when you want some wine with your dinner - no driving after that - or back when PI was open - and Raglan Road is still open. (If I'm not going to use the car I don't see the point in renting one.)

Seven bus stops is a lot - only CBR has seven stops right now. It's going to be necessary to add lots of time for the bus trip if one has someplace one needs to be at a certain time.

yes i have and i've also seen many non resort guest from MK to our resort (SSR) and take the bus to DTD.

I hope not. Things like the quality of bus service, housekeeping, bell services, etc. will not only vary from one visit to another but from one HOUR to another. I've heard glowing reports of SSR buses and not-so-great reports.

I've also had one personal experience where it took me 75 minutes to get from the BoardWalk to the Magic Kingdom via bus. That's worse than any SSR experience. Another time it took nearly 90 minutes to get from BWV to Typhoon Lagoon with stops at the Dolphin, Swan and two a Downtown Disney before arriving at my destination. Does that mean that SSR buses are better than BWV buses? :confused3

SSR will certainly have one of the longer bus loops but adding the THV does not add much to the total trip time, IMO. I don't see the buses pausing at the two THV stops for 3-4 minutes each. Yes, they may do that at other stops but I can't think of any other bus stops in all of Walt Disney World which service just 30 guest rooms.

Full buses driving past stops without picking up more guests is a completely separate issue. That problem can be easily solved by increasing the frequency of buses dispatched to the resort. Pop Century has nearly 3000 rooms--that's about 3 times the size of SSR. But I don't hear guests complaining that it takes 3x as long to reach the parks from POP.

In the end, adding more buses to the SSR loop and also adding the THV to the route is a much better solution for everyone than running a separate loop for the THV.
