I am doing great on my new budget! We took a hugevdebt to save our dd teeth after an accident. Dental cost was almost twenty thousand, we don't mind at all. However we want to pay this off fast so we went on a budget.

So I now have decided to treat myself once a month to something justbfor me. Last monthnI bought a book for my Kindle. This monthnI ordered a new cookbook for my bread machine. It is true itnis the little things in life that make us happy. What are your monthly treats?

I get $20/week allowance. Usually I don't spend it.

So far in August I've bought a dress for $13 at Kohls, a joke and a new serving platter for a total of $1.75 at a garage sale. All the rest is stored in my Disney/FUNd jar.

My "traditional" treats are: bubble bath, candles, and the occasional movie or coffee with girlfriends.

I give myself $25 every 2 weeks. I also treat myself with 1 new song on my ipod for every 2 miles I walk. I'm still healing, so I usually can walk 1 mile every other day.

With my most recent $25, I spent part of it to buy fall scented moisturizing hand soap from Bath and Body Works (caramel apple and scents like that), $3.99 for a downloadable computer game from Amazon, and some beads to make a bracelet.

DH and I are on a very tight budget, so I've had to become more thrifty with my splurges.

Splurges include:

drinks at Starbucks, books for my e-reader, buying makeup at Sephora, and clothes at Macys (when I have coupons!).

I use my Barnes and Noble membership card to save 10% at Starbucks.
I buy discounted gift cards for Barnes and Noble, Sephora, and Macys. Every little penny saved helps!

Also I do like to buy bath bombs and a store at the mall sells them individually anywhere from $4 - $8.

I go to the movies once a week without the kids. The tickets are only $5 and it gives me some much needed Mommy time. I'm an emotional spender and DH is out of the country until next year... this keeps me from spending hundreds monthly on stuff.

I treat myself to a pint of Ben & Jerry's coffee heath bar crunch ice cream about twice a month. I love to have my ice cream and read a good book late at night.:)

I love going to the movies by myself! BTW, Cowboys and Aliens is very entertaining, and you can never go wrong with Daniel Craig!!!! :woohoo:

My weekly treat is a movie from Red Box and a night to myself when DH takes karate. :cool1:

Now that I have a new job, I plan on budgeting for a special treat each month. I think it will help keep my spending in check with the influx of money coming back in.

I get a pedicure 2x/month and a massage 1x/month. I would give them up in a heartbeat if my budget needed to change, but for now they are affordable albeit a bigger splurge than what others are listing for their splurges.
