Roti and Fini
As we approached our hotel, we split up. The boys went to the food court and I went across the street to Roti. I love Mediterranean food and I loved the idea of designing my meal out of so many awesome choices.
I didn’t make you guess my drink, but they sure had some interesting ones.
Both the Blueberry Basil Lemonade and the Pomegranate Lemonade with Black Tea sounded really good, but I was afraid of spilling the drink (and the stain that would result), so I got the White Peach Vanilla Bean Green Tea:
But I know you are not interested in that…
Ma cherie Mademoiselles (et Messieurs),
It is with deepest pride and greatest pleasure
That I welcome you today
And now, I invite you to relax
Pull up a chair
As Roti proudly presents
My lunch!
*my deepest apologies to Lumiere!
This wonderful Rice Plate is made up of Roti Chicken with a Dill, Yogurt and Cucumber Sauce with an accompaniment of Red Cabbage Slaw and Hummus.
This was SO GOOD!
Ben’s lunch was a beef and shrimp stir-fry.
I don’t know what Mark and Nate had to eat. Apparently, it was not picture-worthy.
After lunch we went back into the hotel so we could print out our boarding passes at the guest computers. We were having a really hard time- there were two computers and one of them kept freezing when we hit print. So we switched over to the other one and we were able to get what we needed. We let someone at the front desk know that there was a problem with one of the computers, but he didn’t seem to care.
Boarding passes now in hand, we went out to the front of the hotel and caught a cab to the airport.
I don’t remember anything remarkable happening while we waited at the airport or during our short (1 hour) flight, but here are the final pictures I took during the trip:
The End
***********************************************************
Speaking of pictures- how many family photos did we get of all four of us in Washington DC?
My hint was that we had fewer pictures than we did on our trip in 2010. On that trip, we had 2 family pictures, taken by a stranger I asked when we were at the Museum of Natural History on our last day.
This trip: Zero!
I am really disappointed about that.
A great opportunity would have been the night we took the monuments tour after dark because we had our own driver, but whenever he dropped us off, he had to drive away and find a place to park until we called him.
Or, we could have done a selfie in front of the White House. But the boys would have been horrified by that suggestion.
The final opportunity for points was our step count for our final day. This was our least active day, with a total of only 11,752 steps.
Here are the point additions for this update:
rteetz: 20 (10 points for chicken, 10 points for 2nd place on step count)
luvpoohandcompany: 20 (10 points each for red cabbage slaw and dill yogurt sauce, 5 points for 3rd place on step count, lost 5 for doubling down on 4 photos

)
bookgirl: 30 (10 points each for rice plate, chicken and dill yogurt sauce) Even with a late start, you finished in the medal round!
SarahDisney: 25 (10 points for chicken, 15 points for first place on step count

)
annie170: 5 (10 points for chicken, -5 for doubling down on 2 photos)
Wood Nymph: 30 (10 points each for rice plate and red cabbage slaw and 10 points for correctly having no faith in us getting a single family photo)
afwdwfan: 10 (Zero family photos)
pas130: 20
And the final scores:
rteetz: 215
luvpoohandcompany: 210
bookgirl: 210
SarahDisney: 175
Wood Nymph: 155
annie170: 145
afwdwfan: 60
pas130: 20
