We have two rooms reserved on our dvc points. One is a 2 br unit and the other is a studio. My brother in law cannot stay the whole week so he does not want the dining plan. We are currently booked on separate ressies with 2 adults and one child in the studio and my brother in law in the 2 br with us. Can we change the ressie name to put my brother in law alone in the studio and everyone else in the 2 br? Upon check in, my brother in law would actually stay in the 2 br as intended. Everyone on the 2 br reservation would buy the dp. My brother in law would pay oop at the restaurants we eat at but he would not be at disney for the entire week that his name is on the reservation. Our only other options are for some of us not to do dp or for him to just stay with us without being on the reservation, which wouldn't work due to emh.

thanks for any help

As long as you don't go over the occupancy limit for the 2 BR I would think this would work. He would need to make sure he trades his keycard with someone who is actually staying in the studio however or they can't get in and they will only have one key card instead of 2 or 3 if this would make a difference.

The only issue here is that you need to be sure to book the studio for the full length of the stay despite the fact that he will be leaving early (thus the other people will be able to use it.) And remember to trade KTTW for purposes of opening the doors. The child's KTTW would work well for this purpose! Alternatively, you could save points by having the other family stay in the 2 bedroom for the remaining days after the brother in law leaves...

Another thing that they will do on the ships (might do in the parks, but I've never tried it) is to give you a "blank" KTTW that will be good for opening the doors only but not for charging or DDP credits. Basically, the lead adult (the name on the ressie) for both ressies need to go to guest services and request this.

The blank key idea would be great since both families will be going back and forth in the rooms. Thanks for the suggestion.
