El Tovar at the Grand Canyon is undergoing some renovations (including a new roof) and has a special deal going with 30% off the cost of rooms until 6 March 2014 so that they start from $131/night. Use PROMO code WINTER. Not sure how disruptive this might be but in case anyone out there is interested. There are also some good deals going at other lodgings as well.

Also the US National Parks service is having free entry day on Monday January 20 for Martin Luther King Jr.

We stayed there back in Sep/Oct, such a stunning location right on the rim.
