I am guessing that travellers cheques in US funds would be accepted at all the parks and most major restaurants and stores right??? The Orlando area is such a tourist area that surely they must accept travellers cheques as long as they are in US $ but I would like to be reassured by you guys.

Yes. We used them for years but have switched to the VISA Travel Money cards.

U.S. $$$ traveller's cheques are accepted almost everywhere. If you're staying onsite, your resort (and most offsite hotels) will cash them for you so you'll have $$$ in your pocket.

My questions about the Visa money card is this -- I assume you use it like a credit card, but how do you know how much is left? Do you have to call in for a balance?

All we ever use are US dollar TC's never a problem with them at the parks or anyplace around the Disney area even off property. We always get ours from TD and use AMEX TC's plus with our GTV we don't pay for ours at TD. CAA does have the money cards but they are 7.95 to purchase then a cost to load it up and a cost for each transaction and a charge to check teh balance so it ends up costing you more to see how much you have left and use it than the actual purchase sometimes. This info was posted on here by a CAA staff member and she said they were not a good idea for traveling to Florida or the US in general it was designed more for overseas travel.

We use master card "Global Payment" card. It does work the same as a credit card, but debit's your account. You do have to keep track of what you spend to know what's left. But it works very well for us.
