I'm a single mother of two ages 3 and 6 and my ex- inlaws have made an offer to take us on a disney cruise, I'll spare the details but we get along great. Should we get one large family room or two adjoining room?

I think that is a decision that you have to make for yourself.

Do you want to sleep in the same room with them ? Share a bathroom ? Have some privacy and time away ?

More information please if you are truly asking for advice.

2 connecting rooms if you can afford it.

That way, you can spend as much time w/ them as you want, or not.

2 rooms. Even the the closest, loving, mushy families find the rooms on a cruise ship to be close quarters. Adjoing would be good, so that you can leave your in laws door open if you need to step out with the little ones napping.
You'll appreciate the space.

We did the adjoining rooms with my parents in 2004 - loved it. Most of the time we kept the door open so the kids went back and forth, but at nights or when getting ready for dinner/getting dressed closed it for privacy - perfect!

I"d vote for two rooms. Sometimes you just want your privacy...like in the bathroom. 5 people in the room seems like it would be kinds crowded.

Thanks you guys for all of the imput, I'm not sure about affordability because they are paying for everything, I don't want so come off as rude or ungrateful for asking for my own room, I'm sure my kids will want to stay in the room with their grandparents. popcorn::

You might want to post this in the cruise forum also. They can give you some great advice, not only about cabins but cruising in general
