hi everyone. i'm going to be in disneyworld with my band in june and i was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for where to stay and where to eat. money isn't a huge issue, but it would be nice to know of any ways to have a good time without going bankrupt. thanks very much. :)

Planet Hollywood , RainForest Cafe, TrailEnd Buffet, and House of Blues. It depends if won't stay onsite or offsite. If save big dollars go offsite to save money. Be sure check out Orlando attractions board that's where offsite people hang at . A good hotel site is www.hotelkingdom.com . For hotel reviews www.tripadsvior.com . Do won't do WDW only or do won't US parks to.

Stay WDW value, moderate, deluxe resorts. I happened to like value resorts myself because they simple resorts. I have stayed at All-Star Sports and Music. The newest value Pop Century.

Hi Conor and welcome to the Dis! :cool1:

Er...this band with which you're traveling to WDW is one of musical persuasion, right? I mean you're not traveling with a band of robbers or thieves...well, you did say that money was not an issue lol... :)

Where will you be staying? :confused3 It's a little hard for us to give you advice without knowing how many of you will be traveling, your approximate ages, how long you'll be staying and if any of you has ever been before...and are you driving or flying...if flying will you be renting a car?

Hope to hear more about you and your band so we can help!

thank you both so much.. to ozymoe.. yea sorry i guess i was a little vague. you're correct on your assumption that we are a musical act.. we're not out to pillage and plunder anything yet!

okay we're not exactly sure where to stay. i guess that's one reason why i'm here. i don't know much about disneyworld at all, really. there will be eight of us going. we are all in our 20s and we will be traveling in our bus [we are playing some dates in the central florida area around that time]. we'll be at disneyworld for about seven days. thank you!

If I were you I think I would want to stay where there's some night life. I know you mentioned that money wasn't a huge issue so I think the Saratoga Springs(walking distance to Downtown Disney) or Broardwalk(lots of late night activity). Both of those properties are DVC and you could always rent points fo $10 a point from the rent board, the amount of points needed depends on when you are going and number of persons in the band.
If you want a more traditional type of reservation my second choice would be PortOrleans Riverside (boat ride to Downtown Disney).
Post when you want to go, # of poss people, and how long you want to stay. There will be plenty of help.

To get you started on accomodations, check them out at www.allearsnet.com.
Good Luck :rockband:

OK...we've established 8 of you in your 20's...now we need to know how many are willing to share digs with each other...I mean are there couples or are you all singles and everyone gets along when they have to share? (in case you don't recognize that icon it is "rolls eyes" lol)

Seriously...these things matter when we want to help you chose...and believe me, when you know what you want...we can really help!

Lol..I'm editing now because I forgot to ask where your band will be playing in Florida? If you want to share...what is the name of your band? In case you haven't noticed my sig...I LOVE music...all kinds...anywhere...anytime..."sigh" I'm an addict!

okay well my band and i are like family. we all grew up together in omaha and we've been playing music together since we were kids. we get into arguments sometimes, but i think we can all handle being in close quarters for seven days. after all, we're on a bus, in a studio, or on a stage together almost every day anyway! so i think we can deal.

i'm assuming we'll probably need two rooms [we don't mind sharing beds or sleeping on floors]. and what we really need to know is good places to eat in disneyworld, and great ways to occupy ourselves for seven days [which won't really be that hard, trust me]. also, i was wondering if disney is responsive to people with vegan/vegetarian dietary needs. just about all of us, including myself are at least vegetarian.

and to answer your final question, we're playing at the social in orlando, and probably the house of blues so far. the rest of the dates are still being finalized. even the hob date isn't set in stone yet. our band is called bright eyes. i sing and play guitar. we just put out two new records in january, which is why we'll be touring so much. we really love playing the orlando area; the atmosphere is just so pleasant. we actually played the social back in september of 2002 [a lovely girl on the college board actually sent me a link to their page and strangely, i saw our picture archived in their photo section]. anyway, if you are really into music, you should check out the rest of the bands on my label, www.saddle-creek.com. there's a link in my profile. all of us are good friends and many members of the other bands comprise the band that i am touring with currently.

thank you so much for your help, and when we get more dates finalized, i'll let you know and maybe you could come hang out with us. take care. :3dglasses

[edit:] i guess that link works right there.

I would check out hotelkingdom. You can get a 2 rooms at cypress point for about $70 a night. It would give you a kitchen, whirlpool tub, washer and dryer etc... Sounds like you will have transportation, so off-site meals would be no problem. Much cheaper and more choices than eating all of your meals at theme parks!

Thank you for the link! I'll check it out later today. Thank you also for the invitation to hang out, but alas we are not scheduled to be at Disney in June. I do have a tip for lodging for you though...you might consider renting a 3/4/5/6 or 7 bedroom house. We rented a 7 bedroom house a year and a half ago (Whimsical Women of Wednesday club group...all grand dames of community theatre lol). We had a blast. The house had its own screened in pool/hot tub, washer/dryer, full kitchen...the works! If you are bringing a bus I think you would have to make arrangements with the community (most of these homes are in resort communities with tennis courts, outdoor swimming pools, saunas and clubhouses in addition to the private pools in each house). I'm sure it is fairly easy to arrange since when we were there I saw RVs parked in a special lot.

The price varies. You'll be going in high season and I'm sure if you are interested you'll have to make arrangements pretty soon (as in right now lol). We split the cost 7 ways and it ended up being about $30 a night per person for the week...but as I said, we got a pretty good deal on a 7 bedroom house!

I'll go find some links for you now and edit them in when I find a few good ones.

OK...start here: http://www.google.com/search?q=cach...rlando+"pool+home"+"sleeps+12"&hl=en&ie=UTF-8

There is even a 4 BR available for $85/night at Indian Ridge until June 18th if you push the red "special offers" button.

Without doing more research I can't say where Indian Ridge is located exactly. We stayed at Emerald Isle which was on the west end of Disney closest to Animal Kingdom. It took about 15-20 minutes to get to any of the parks with AK being maybe 10. lol...my DH just called up to the computer room to tell me Who Wants to be a Millionaire is on so I have to go for now.
