Long time lurker finally coming out of the closet!

We will be traveling to Disney with 2 children and Grandparents this summer. Any tips on making the trip "family friendly" for all ages...5-75? Grandpa is pretty spry, but Grandma is pretty much a "Disney Grouch" and would prefer to not be there. Any hints on how to make Grandma love Disney would be appreciated!

 If she's not as spry as Grandpa,I'd make sure she gets to see the awesome fireworks, a good parade and get her to some of the shows!! Most people have the misconception, that Disney is JUST for kids, and it's ALL rides. Soooo not true. She'll probably fall in love with Main St! I'd take it slow, and you all don't have to stay connected to the hip. She may surprise you and want to do some exploring of her own. Don't forget Epcot, bet she'll love the place. Have fun

Welcome to the Dis, June!

When we went with my DMiL, she was more into seeing my DD's reactions to everything. She did go on most of the non-thrill rides. Her big issue was the amount of walking that it takes. The first park we hit was MGM, since that really winded her, I strongly suggested we rent her an electric scooter (don't know if that is right name) at Epcot. She resisted, however when I explained how much bigger it was than MGM she had my DH go get her one. The next day we were doing MK and she asked before hand if we could get her another one. It really helped her alot. She had a great time and did not get played out as easily. I also have a picture of her on this thing, that I can use for future blackmail if needed. (My DFiL didn't go with us and has never seen the picture!)

Have a great trip.

Welcome to the DIS! :wave2:

If you haven't already, order the free planning video or DVD that your grandparents can watch. That will give them an idea of what they can expect. After watching it, maybe you can sit & talk about what you'd think they'd like to see, and get a feel for how much they want to stay with you - so it's understood ahead of time.

Last time we went with my MIL & FIL I fully expected them to want to stay with my kids the whole time, and ended up disappointed when they didn't.

Have a great time, and good luck planning! You've come to the right place.

June, I private messaged you. Congratulations on inviting your parents, that's great! Carolyn :flower:

Thank you for the great advice. Grandma is pretty spry...she is alot younger than Grandpa! She just hates the Mouse! We are hoping that the kids enthusiasm rubs off!
