Traveling with Family...How do you get two campsites side by side?

Assuming same type of sites and same arrival day, "link" your reservations.

Each of you make a separate reservation and share your reservation number with the other party.

Each party calls the Reservation line back later and say they want to "link" their reservation to another and adds the other party's reservation number to their reservation.

When it's time for assignment, the Fort will see that and know it means "we want to be with them and they want to be with us".

If it can be arranged the Fort will try. They are good at it but of course no guarantees.

PS - of course in this age of early check-ins and computer driven assignment texts, you have to keep your fingers crossed.

We have 2 sites in March, while getting side by side would be great, there are some areas where back to back would be good or across the street.

We tow a TT with the Mothership and had everything linked in the system, no problems

1) The best way to get a room at a resort or a site at The Fort you want is
. . . check-in as soon after 6:05am and you can
. . . the front Desk can usually move you around with others
2) Front Desk CM's move assigned rooms/sites EVERY DAY.
3) People check-in later in the day never know they we traded with someone else.
4) And, the folks who checked-in earlier are happy.

For the last five years, we have travelled down to Florida to WDW, staying at Fort Wilderness. Our reservations have been linked to each other's, and we have always had sites side by side. I feel they do their best to accommodate that request. We are in premium sites, pulling fifth wheels. We checked in around 9:00 am. One site was ready, the other not, so our DD just picked up their golf cart and came down to our site until their site, (neighbors had left about three hours later,) was hosed down and grill cleaned. Good luck to you.

The 2 times my parents and my family we at the Fort, we were side by side. My wife linked both ressies and made a request to be be side by side, across from one another or at least in the same loop. In 2012, 500 loop, we were side by side. IN 2014, 800 loop was also side by side.
