We are going to WDW in September. My son will be 2 when we leave and will turn 3 while we are there. I know 2 year olds can fly free if they ride in your lap. Anyone know what happens if the infant's age changes in the middle of the trip? Can he ride free on the trip home or will he need a ticket?

No once he turns 3 he can not fly free. you will need a ticket for him to get home.

If you bought a round trip ticket it really doesn't matter. Sorry you don't have a ticket. Carry the birth certificate in case anyone asks, They will probably wish him a Happy Birthday. No one checks a childs ID right. The only thing they would do is to get you to buy another ticket if they would really care.

Are you positive about him being able to fly free at age two? From my experience you have to pay once the child turns two, and if they happen to turn two during the trip you do need to pay for a return ticket. Hope that helps, and if you can fly your two year old for free, let me know what airline!

YOU ARE SO RIGHT! I was in a hurry to answer that the do need a ticket if they go over the age that I didn't realize I was typing 3 DUH!!!!1:scared1:

Most airlines will ask to see proof they are under 2 -I did it right that time-and if they are over they will require you to buy a ticket whether it is a round trip or not.

I second that, the child must be UNDER 2 the day they turn 2 they need a ticket

I'm glad we cleared that up, I was beginning to think I was going crazy!
