Hi. My husband and I are thinking about taking a trip to Disney in either September or October. We will be traveling along with our three year old son and daughter who will be four months old. My daughter is nursing. We are going to visit family we and thinking of visiting Disney. Even if we spend one day in a park. Then we were thinking of staying at either All Star Movies or the Pop resort. We have been there many times always at peak seasons. Has anyone ever been to the park at this time? What is it like? Any tips for traveling with a baby? I am assuming the baby would be allowed in to shows are there any other attractions or rides babies are allowed on. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. :earsboy:

We are planning a trip Nov30th - Dec5th at the WL. I have 2 DS's who will be 3.5 & 6mos. The baby is EBF.

A dear friend of mine (who is a disney guru) told me the other day that DS will be allowed on most rides, except for the ones with height restrictions! I am so excited  that he will be allowed to go with us for most things in the MK. She said to me Why would people go to Disney with young children if they couldn't go on the rides? I have no idea what I was thinking!!! The last time I was at Disney was at least 10 years ago and was off-site - my mother lives in the orlando area - before DH & DS's.

My friend's best tip: When it's time to nurse, head for Tomorrowland. The baby & I can ride the transit to nurse (it's about 20 min & it will give me more to look at than just sitting on a bench) and DH & DS can go on Buzz lightyear or the Speedway.

I wanted to take DS to Disney before the baby but it didn't work out and now I'm so glad we waited - I am so excited - I think the baby is going to have a GREAT time, too, looking at everything that is going on around him!!!

Good Luck!
HTH,
Robin

Been in Nov. Loved it. Bring a baby bjorn or some other carrier, because there are loads of places that you cant take the stroller into.

We took our DD when she was 4 months old and EBF. It was great! I second the recommendation for bringing a Baby Bjorn or some other type of carrier for the lines. It wasn't a problem for us to bring her into restaurants in her stroller.

The baby care centers are great. I nursed my daughter in the baby care centers most of the time just because it was cool and she was easily distractable. However, I also easily nursed her in restaurants, shows, quiet park benches, and even the Pirates of the Caribbean!

The babies are allowed on anything without a height restriction. Our daughter went on pretty much everything. I remember keeping her in the Bjorn on the Safari ride at AK and we sat up in the front (less bumpy). The only time I left an attraction with her was the stunt show at MGM. I took her outside about 30 seconds after it started...it was much too loud.

I am so excited. I love Disney. The last time I visited was six years ago.

I used a sling when my girls were babies. I prefered it over our Baby Bjorn b/c it was easy to reposition her to nurse especially when she was finished and asleep. I was nervous the first time I used it but became so comfortable with it! I also liked that the sling protected her from the sun. We also had our Combi Twin Savvy which was also a lifesaver. I was so easy to travel with it. We did not have a seat for our youngest but that is one thing I regretted. After that trip we bought her her own seat on the plane.

I agree that the baby bojorn is about the worst carrier of choice compaired to how many there are out there that are much much better!!! Nusring will save you so much time and stress! I'm going down in a few weeks with my 12 month old and glad to still be nursing her so i won't have to mess with milk in sippys! I can't imagine having to do bottles, formula, YUCK! LOL then again i've never delt with it so that's nice! :) Just remember to take your time and have fun!

I am going to go out and buy a carrier or sling my daughter is an excellent baby she loves to be held.

We are going in 33 hours with a 3 year old & a three month old and staying at the AS Sports. My DD loves to be in the baby bjorn and her stroller. I will post any tips when we get back!!!

jhshmh- Try to buy a carrier at a place where you can try the carrier on with your child. As you can see from the different posters, some parents and babies prefer slings over bjorns or vice versa. I wasted $40 buying a sling and both my DD and I didn't care for it. We loved the Bjorn and have now moved onto the Babytrekker (Bjorn like carrier, but for bigger kids). Some babies are cuddlers and are better wth the slings. Others, like my dd, like to be upright and outward and do better in a bjorn type carrier. Just do yourself a favor and buy a carrier with good support and padding. Your back and shoulders will thank you.
