Hubby and I will be traveling with our 5 month old daughter for the first time in December. We currently have 2 strollers for her. One is the Graco Spree Travel System w/Snugride: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=10099844 and the second is a Maclaren Quest. I was going to take the Graco since she is a little small for the Quest right now. The problem is the snugride part of the stroller. I want to take it because we use that with her all of the time. How is that going to work on the plane? I was going to gate check the stroller, but can I take the snugride on the plane? Is the snugridge going to be a major pain using disney transportation? All thoughts/suggestions welcome.

If you absolutely want to use your carseat on the plane, then you will need to buy a ticket for the little one. I don't know about all the airlines, but I think some of them will let you bring a carseat for a non-ticketed infant if the plane is not full. Of course, there is no way of knowing how full the plane will be until you get there so you would have to gate check your snugride.

We just went down in early Oct and bought a ticket for our then 10 month old. I am glad we did it that way -- he never would have been still for the flight if he had to be on our laps. Also -- our plane was over-sold, so we would have had to gate-check our seat!

If you are taking her on as a lap child, you also gate-check the Snugride.

We had the same system for both our girls and let me tell you, it was the easiest thing to take. Our stroller was the Quattro and not the Quest, but it's the same principle.

My favorite thing about the combo in the parks - when the carseat is in place, you can actually hide things up under the foot of the carseat (between the car seat and stroller body and canopy), like your billfold, and no one has a clue it's there.

I used to stash all kinds of stuff in that area stroller that I had to find places for when they outgrew the carseat!

I bought a seat already for my daughter thinking I was going to use the snugride on the plane. I'm just wondering how much of a pain it will be with the stroller / snugride on Disney's transportation since I'll be folding up the stroller and will have no place to put the snugride.

I would not use the snugride with the stroller if you are at the park all day long. A baby should not be in a carseat for a long period of time because it can cause flat head syndrome. At 5 months she will fit fine in her stroller alone like a big girl. Just keep the seat as reclined as she needs it in order to "sit up".

When we went to Europe with DS at 6 months, we did not even take a stroller. I used a baby carrier, and "wore" my son the entire time. He would nap that way also. We walked all over Paris and London "wearing" him. I would not take a sungride plus stroller with - I think it will be a huge hassle. If you want the stroller, I would take the Maclaren, but then also plan on having some way of "wearing" your daughter during the park time. You'll have to take her out of the stroller anyway for a number of things.

Also, our dr. warned us that most infants spend too much time in their "plastic buckets" which are not good for them at all - so more time out is better.

We are going to Disney in December with our baby who will be 4mos then. We have the snug ride car seat and stroller frame but are not bringing it. We are going to use the Maclaren Quest. The car seat is to bulky to bring everywhere when getting on and off the buses. The maclaren folds up so easily. I have read the it is not good to keep babies in the snug ride for long periods as it is not good on their spines. You will need an FAA approved car seat for on the plane. I am not sure the snug ride is FAA approved. We are also bringing the baby bjorn as well!
