We're thinking of changing our annual trip to WDW from April school vacation to Febuary School vacation.
Does anybody know the difference in airfare/flights, car travel, parking at the WDW parks, the crowds, traffic in general. Any Recommendations?
Thanks,
Joe

Getting reasonable flights from Boston (or Providence, or Manchester) is MUCH MUCH MUCH harder in February than in April. For instance, I have had my flights for February School vacation booked since last March, and am paying about $275 for direct, non stop round trip.

On Friday night (just past) I booked flights for DS and myself to go to SW FL from April 15-April 22nd. 1 stop, for $206 round trip.

February school vacation is ALWAYS President's Week. April school vacation can sometimes include Easter (making it super busy) and sometimes it won't (less busy).

We are also going to WDW during President's Week and are playing the waiting game for our return flight. I was able to obtain a $99pp one way flight from Rochester, NY to MCO about a month ago. I am a patient person and I check the web fares daily. We are now about 30 days out and the airlines usually begin to discount fares for remaining seats to fill their flights right about now. Fares have begun to come down but you need to be prepaired to fly on flights that may not be direct or leave at odd times.

We always travel during President's Week to WDW, and know well in advance that: airfare is always higher from MA and the NE area
the parks are usually more crowded especially the first weekend when more people are there for the holiday weekend
we will have longer lines
...but you know what? we love it so much, that it is worth all this. Have a great time whenever you go!!! :cool1:

And this year Easter falls on April 16th, the first weekend of New England's April vacation so WDW will be even more crowded then!

Dercello01,

Did you get your fares as of yet to come home? Have you check Spirit? Are you leaving on the 25th or the 26th?

We are leaving on the 18th thru LGA. Who are you flying with?

Let us know how you make out.

Patricia

We only fly non-stops, and for those you will pay a pretty big premium for either April or February school vacation weeks. We are flying down on the 17th and returning on the 26th, so both peak days, on non-stop Song flights. I reserved these right at the 331 day mark to try to get the few cheaper fares. I succeeded on the outbound leg, nabbing 4 tix at ~$85 each. The return flights did not apparently have any discounted fares at all, which meant that we paid $305 per ticket in March (again, one-way); however, if we had waited, we would have paid much more - the return is now selling for ~$500 one-way!

I'm in NH and February vacation here is Feb 27- Mar 3 and Aprils is April 24-28.

I live in the Boston area and I can tell you from experience. DO NOT expect to find a parking space at Logan during February school vacations. We went to Canada last year during this time (had no idea about the vacation) and I have never seen so many cars crammed into the airport lots - triple parked in spots.

I would imagine that the parks will be very crowded.
