Traveling from WDW to US

We are staying at All Star Sports and was wondering what is the best option for travel the day we go to Universal. Are taxis outside the resorts on a daily basis? Are they easy to get from Universal? Approx how much would the taxi cost from ASSP to Universal and back? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The cheapest way from Disney to Universal is Mears Transportation...it runs $16.00/per person round trip but you would have to call 24 hours in advance to make arrangements. A cab would be a lot more.

I'd have to agree with Metro West, your best option would be to grab the Mears shuttle for the round trip. You can arrange it with the front desk at All Star Sports (this is exactly what we did this past April). You just tell them a time you'd like to be picked up and then wait in the foyer about 10 minutes before your selected time.

You can arrange for a set pick up time, or if you'd like a little more freedom, you can call Mears from a phone in US and let them know you need picking up. All they need is 1 hours notice and they'll wait in the bus park for you.

We used them a couple of times on our trip and found them to be great, as there was only two adults on our trip, a taxi cab would have been much more expensive. I do believe when I asked this before we left, I was quoted around $60 for a round trip to US in a taxi cab.
