Traveler's checks instead of a credit card

Is it possible to provide the hotel with $500 in traveler's checks (We're staying at Pop) instead of giving them a credit card for room charges? Or, do they have to have an imprint? The TCs would be sooo much better for my budgeting purposes.

We leave in 9 days and I'm soooooo excited!

I use Travellers Cheque's --- they accept them no problem However, they will still need a CC for an imprint. Simply pay the outstanding amount with TC's before you leave -- and your CC will not be charged.

Well that stinks lol. We dont have a credit card and were planning on leaving cash. I guess we arent now huh

do they "hold" an amount? lets say, like $800.00 or whatever-
but not charge that amount?
we prefer to use our debit/visa card & i would like to know if the
account would be tied up.

we have used a debit card before and as far as I could tell NO they did not put anything on it before we checked out. even when we charged dinner shows to the room it didnt show up till we left.

when I check in they always ask - would you like to leave a CC for any incidentals and have express check out - I would call and ask the resort this question - leaving a CC has always been presented as an option to me

I have put cash down without a credit card needed.
