Travel Trays to go over car seat?

We have this one for our DD. I got it a couple of years ago for our 12 hour treck to WDW:lmao:

It does fine for her to be able to have stuff on the tray for coloring, little figures to play witih, etc. She also can have snacks or dinner to eat on this. It is very soft and when we arent using it, we slide it under the seat in front of her.

Rule of thumb when buying something like this. Would you throw it at your child's head? If it is soft enough that you feel you could do that and not injure your child, go for it. Honestly, and this comes from nine years as a car seat tech, I'm not overly concerned about the one you posted. It appears to be soft, doesn't interfere with the harness in the car seat, and if you were in a wreck would just smash down.

Thanks everyone!, we decided to go with he one I posted after all, just because it was soft without any hard materials in it.

We could not agree with you more, which why DH was completely against the Taby tray, and anything that would interfere with the car seat, so I think the one we got will work fine.

I'm just popping in to add that we have the trays in the first post (star kids) and they are fabulous. I am a car seat fanatic and they are very very safe. I would totally throw them at my child's head. :lmao:

this made me :rotfl::lmao::rotfl2:

WE have one of those for each of our boys-specifically for our Disney trips. They are great. I stuff the mesh sides with coloring books,crayons, and small toys.

Most of the trays say not to use while the vehicle is in motion. You would only be able to use it for eating in the car while parked.
