I'm so excited!! We are headed back to The Fort in August!!! Our DD is currently in the DCP and we are coming to WDW to bring her home the first week of August. We just got back from a very busy 10 day WDW vacation, so we have decided to have a low-key Ft Wilderness vacation in August. We are only planning 1 park day, 1 water park day, and 1 beach day. The rest of the time we are just hanging at The Fort and enjoying time with the kids.

We have a premium site booked for July 29-August 6. My DD got a great 50% discount since she is in the DCP! Yay!! I'm looking at renting a travel trailer and a golf cart. Any recommendations? We need something big since we will have all 7 of our kiddos with us...ages 3 to 20. Thanks for your help!!

I think Greenberg RV rents both out, and I know that they have bigger travel trailers. I was looking at them a couple of years ago and they were nice to work with and prompt.

Last I heard the camper rentals were no longer allowed to rent the carts as a combo. This came up about 6 months ago but I don't recall that anyone actually confirmed this through personal experience. I would call the rentals and see.

If you don't mind, please let us know what they say.

we were not able to rent TT and golf cart combo last August. had to rent golf cart from the Fort

Please tell your DD if she hears a story about the ducks from the pond at Vista Way getting eaten, it is a true story. My DD was there in the CP when it happened. It seems some of the students from China thought it was okay. They found several of the ducks in their freezer.

Heather,

Good luck on your upcoming trip and tell your daughter CONGRATS on her DCP experience. My own DD has applied for the Fall 2017 DCP and is still sitting In Submission and she is depressed about it. So at least it's not HELL NO yet but it's not YES either.

A 50% discount is sweet. I have these daydreams of coming down to visit my DD during her DCP and taking advantage of similar opportunities.

So I'm no help on your question above but tell DD congrats! It will be a lifetime of memories, hopefully happy ones, for her.

My DD sat in submissions for over a month before she got her acceptance email. Don't give up yet!!

I did find a place that rents a travel trailer/golf cart combo. Meachams RV Rental. They offer a package deal. I just called and put my deposit down so we are all set now!

Meacham's is one of the Fort's "Official" vendors

Surround yourself in the beauty of nature while still enjoying the comforts of home—courtesy of an RV rental!

Before and after a day of play at one of our magical destinations, you and your family can rest and relax inside your very own RV! Featuring some of the same amenities as our Resort hotels, RVs provide a perfect middle ground for those who simply can’t decide between a campsite or cabin.

Best of all, you can even have an RV delivered right to Walt Disney World Resort—meaning you can get your “outdoor” adventure started the second you arrive, without dealing with any additional hassles!

For more information on RV rentals, be sure to contact the following official vendors:

Luxurious RV Rentals LLC – (800) 561-8538
Meacham’s RV Rental – (941) 224-4939
Moore Camping Rental – (352) 442-6365

Please note: Guests under 18 years of age must have parent or guardian permission to call.

So this is probably why they can do the Golf cart RV combo. I suspect however that if it wasn't an "Official" vendor that you would not be able to do the combo.

I didn't realize there were "official" vendors for Ft Wilderness. What does that mean for the other companies that rent travel trailers? We used Greenberg back in 2015 and they were fantastic! Are they still able to rent and deliver TT?

OMG!!! That is crazy!! I'll have to share that story with my DD. What the heck?!!

For now, as I understand it, they can still come in and set up, but I suspect it will get more and more difficult for them, much like it is for Tee Time Golf Cart rentals.

I was going to say Meachams. We just booked with them today. I haven't even seen the camper yet and I can say that my experience has been great. Top notch customer service.
