Hi! We're going to WDW (our first trip) Sept 10-15. We're staying at Pop Century. One night I've booked the character dinner at the Grand Floridian. We'll take the POP bus to MK, and then the monorial to GF (I'm assuming that's the shortest way??). Does anyone know approximately how long it will take?
Thanks!
Kelly

Hi Kelly,

It will take anywhere from 20 to 60 minutes, depending on a number of factors, including whether or not you just missed a bus and/or monorail.

The absolute quickest way would be to take a taxi from Pop to the GF. That will take about 10-15 minutes.

The next quickest way would be bus to MK then boat to GF if there's a boat at the GF/Poly dock that seems to be leaving soon. You'll walk by the docks on your way to the monorail so you can decide if this will work best.

This could all change depending on park hours.

We have traveled from All Star Resorts to other resorts for meals.
Sometimes getting there is fine, you can get a bus from your resort to a park and then get transportation (bus, boat or monorail) directly to the next resort.

It is after the parks close and you can't get back to the park you came from, then you will need to get a bus to Downtown Disney and then get your bus to your resort. We have had the longest waits and travel time returning to our resort. Anywhere from 1 hr to 1 1/2 hr.

I agree with Chuck.

My expereince last year was 90 minutes if you had to go to DTD and about 45 minutes to an hour from resort-->park-->next resort.

Last year, we tried to make a switch at POFQ to go to DTD. 35-40 minute wait. I should have grabbed another bus to a park and then gone to DTD.

Yes to the 90 minutes. We stayed to watch the Electric Floating Water Pageant and didn't leave to go back to POP until about 9:40 or so. Had to go through DTD and change busses. It was AWFUL. Didn't get back to POP until well after 11:00. Will NEVER do that again.
