I feel at times that I'm spamming the "Canadians Travelling to the USA in 2026" thread by posting so many statistics about the drop in Canadians going to the US, so I thought I'd start up a new thread where I post travel statistics. I assume this thread will be allowed under forum rules, so long as we totally avoid bringing politics into the conversation. So, I'll be posting facts and links without any sort of commentary.
I just came across an article, published on Feb 16, which gives an excellent summary of how cross border tourism was affected in 2025. As you can tell from the article title, which has got to be the longest title I've ever seen for a news article, the article is comprehensive. A very long, but interesting, read.
Canada–US Travel Boycott 2026: The Complete Data — $4.5 Billion Lost, 450,000 Seats Cut, 62% of Canadians Staying Away, Toronto–Cancún Dethroning Dallas as Mexico’s Busiest Route, and Florida Snowbirds Selling Their Condos
