Where do you buy travel insurance? I am looking for a multi-trip annual plan for my family (me, DW, DD5, DD1).

I checked RBC insurance web site and it is $150 for a Family Multi-Trip Annual 15-day Plan. I was about to proceed but they do not require ANY information from my family members (just my info).... hesitated.

Last year we purchased from President Choice and I remembered they need everyone's name and birth date. Not sure why RBC doesn't.

Anyways, any good recommendation?

Check with CAA...a 15 day annual plan should run you about $135 depending on your ages. You don't have to be a member to purchase.

We purchased our coverage through RBC via our Disney Specialist at Fairytale Destinations. For 3 of us, it was $54 for a single-trip plan. She only required our names and birth dates to secure the coverage.

I know we purchased RBC last year and will renew this year. What I liked was that if something happens, I believe they pay, not a you pay and they reimburse you later. That to me was a great benefit in itself.

If you have one of the new "Infinite" VISA cards (~$120 per year, included in some banking packages) the out of province/out of country emergency medical insurance is included for free, even if you don't use your card for your travel planning!

We purchased travel insurance through RBC and I think it was about $135 for the whole year for our family. My Dh travels alot for business and we cross the border 2-3 trips a year plus all of the weekends for shopping so for us it is really a good deal.

Thanks for this info! DH and I both have Infinite Avion for our business transactions, and I didn't even realize this. You just saved us money! Our RBC travel insurance was due Dec 24 and we've been debating renewing it, and now don't even have to !

No problem! Nice to know you don't have to buy the travel insurance as long as you have the card. Definitely pays for the $120/year (even though it's part of our account.. bigger bonus!).
