Travel Insurance Recommendation?

We just booked our trip for next July and need to purchase travel insurance right away. We learned the hard way to never go without it when my father in law passed away during our last trip to Disney. There are so many plans out there! Any recommendations for a company?

I use Travel Guard or Travelex. It's very important to purchase no later than 10 days after deposit has been made (this vary per company) so you can have Pre-existing conditions waived. Also look for primary coverage. Travel Guard -Gold doesn't charge for the children, Silver covers a child per paying adult.
If you don't have a travel agent that can help you weed out what's the most convenient for you, I recommend you consult with one, this might help you a lot.

If you are a US citizen leaving the US, you'll want health care coverage (with pre-existing conditions covered, as mentioned before) & plane medical evacuation insurance - purchased separately from medjet.com. Med evac can break the bank if not covered - $10,000 & above!

We've never had a claim, so I can't say if the one(s) we've used are good at paying!

Be careful about the $ amount you purchase. Most policies = must purchase $ coverage amount at least for the total $ of the trip. For instance, trip costs $5,000; purchase policy for $4,000 to get cheaper rate. Most policies will not cover a claim in that instance.
