Hello!

Any advice on who to go with for Travel Insurance? My DH checked out insuremytrip.com and they recommended either Access America (2 different packages) or Travel Safe. Please let me know if any of you have had good or bad experiences with either of these. Or, if you have any other suggestions, those would be appreciated as well.

Thanks!
Julie

We used Access america and purchased the less expensive plan (travel-ease, I think). Due to the 3 week length of our trip (one week at WDW followed by back to back DCL), using them was much less than purchasing insurance through DCL and AAA. We purchased our insurance at the end of August for our Sept 18th departure, although I had called them several times before purchasing for clarification of hurricane coverage, etc, as the hurricane season was obviously so bad. So, long story short, our land portion at WDW was extended and our cruise was delayed due to Hurricane Jeanne. We ended up having over $900 in expenses from hotel, food and car rental that we had not planned on. We kept all of our reciepts for everything over those days (Sept 24-27) and I also called Access several times for questions, etc. They were great and patient, as I am sure they had a large amount of calls during that time. When we got home from the trip, I sent in all the reciepts and we got all of the money back (except for the bottles of wine we bought ;) ) very quickly. So, there is my good experience with Access America. We will use them again!

We have also used Access America on the same cruise as two-foxes above and were reimbursed for our delayed cruise as well.

I have bought Travel Safe for another upcoming cruise because they were less expensive than Access America and I have heard good things about them. If I can remember they both offer pretty much the same coverage so you can't go wrong with either one.

Anyone use Travel Safe? They were the cheaper of the 3 choices -- and had better coverage than the cheaper Access America package.

Thanks!

I'm interested in this too. Travelsafe is cheapest for my trip too, but I don't know much about them...

TIA!

Looks like we may go with Travelex. They had the best rating (A+) and had competitive rates (even cheaper than certain Access rates for less coverage). Based on what we read trying to search the boards here, most people had good luck with them.

Any other pros/cons either way are still appreciated. :) Thanks for all the help!

Thanks for this good info! I still am debating insurance companies for our cruise in 2006. Thanks again! :flower:
