Hi,
I'm looking into travel insurance.
I thought I read on here awhile back that one company offered "kids" as free.
Anyone know what company that was?

Also, what company has the best rate?
DCL seems high.

Thanks

DCL is high. Check insuremytrip.com. Also, I think AAA has a "kids free" with 2 adults deal. Remember that if you don't buy insurance within 2 weeks of booking your cruise, any pre-existing medical issues may not be covered.

I believe someone said accessamerica with the AAA discount had kids for free.

I paid for the kids' insurance as what if something happens to them and I wanted the money back for their trips too. I used travelex through insuremytrip.com and it seemed HUGELY reasonable compared to DCL.

Thanks for the fast answers!

I always thought that when kids were "free" they were still covered, that you just didn't have to pay extra for them.

To explain this a little more, if my husband and I both are insuranced and one of the kids got sick, we would be covered for the entire family.

Am I wrong?

Of course the kids are covered with the Accessamerica AAA Family Plan. You get their coverage for free. That is the deal. ;) They are covered just as if you had paid for them with another company...only you save that money.

I think TravelEx also insured kids for free. Go to the website mentioned above and compare. Yes, if they are covered for free that means you would get their portion covered as well. Otherwise they wouldn't be "covered".

Travelguard Essential Expanded coverage covers one child free per paying adult. It also has preexisting coverage if purchased within 15 days of making initial deposit.

We bought travelex travelite through insuremytrip. I'm not sure if kids were free or not (ages 3 and 5), but my parents also bought same policy and their premium was the same as mine, so I'm assuming so. Great policy and everything is primary coverage. Be sure to look at the color coated tables so you know if you are getting primary/secondary coverage with whatever policy you choose.

How dense am I? We have a party of 7 and three of them are children. I bought the insurance about 3 weeks ago and we got the Travelex Essential. It never dawned on me that the kids were free until reading all of your posts! So sure enough, I went to live chat over at insuremytrip and all 3 kids were free! So thanks so much guys! I just saved us some moeny as I was splitting allthe costs by 7 and now i can do it by 4! Yeah! :cheer2:

bslowery--I'd call DCL or your TA to find out. I'm not sure!

Glad it worked out and saved you a little money. More for the bartender to take from you... <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008_ZSYYYYYYYYUS' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/15_4_109.gif' alt='Hawaiian' border=0></a>

The website to get a quote where the kids are free is: www.accessamerica.com/aaa

I got my insurance through them twice, even though I went on line to check prices, I actually bought over the phone
