Travel insurance for 'seniors'?

We're looking for travel insurance for my mum (82) and m-i-l (80) that doesn't cost more than the rest of the trip we've booked for November!

They need 10 days cover, and the cheapest I've found so far is around £130 each!!

Any suggestions welcome - so far I've looked at Age Concern, Help The Aged, Saga, Post Office, moneysupermarket.com, confused.com and they've ranged from £130 to £240 HELP!

Have you tried M&S - that's who my in-laws usually use.

try travel web insurance-i got this insurance recommended by which magazine--not to sure on how much it would cost,but mine cost £42 for my family{which was the best deal we had}

my wife was bitten by a spider at pors and had treatment at a local drop in hospital£300 ish for treatment and tablets,i sent the invoice off to them as soon as i got back-with in a week they paid up ,great service-i hope you get a good deal

Think my parents (both 73, with recent, minor, health problems) arranged theirs through Norwich Union

Thanks for the suggestions, but M&S won't cover over 80s for USA, Norwich Union won't cover over 75s, and travel-web linked through to someone else who quoted £137

Oh well, looks like it's going to be more expensive than we thought!

Still searching, but things are getting better - £69 quote from egg (but I need to check the policy cover) who will insure up to age 86 ...

... not so good from Churchill who quoted £363 !!!!

That's ridiculous!

Hope you find a better price soon, although the EGG price seems like a good bet.

We have DD's car insurance with them, as they were the best quote for her, so I guess it just goes to show they all have their strong and weak points!

Have you checked with the Post Office. They were the best for my 77 year old Mum who has severla serious pre-existing conditions, but I don't know if they go beyond 80.

Yes, they would go over 80, and were one of the cheaper ones, I think, but still on the £130 range.

I'll do some concentrated research this weekend

Have a look at Saga - they specialise in stuff for the elderly and I know they do insurance.

Have you tried Flexicover? My parents have a good annual policy with them.
