Travel Group Size-We have 35

Just found out our trip to Grand Canyon has 35 travelers. 15 of which are children. Most of them are similar to my children's ages which is fantastic. This was one of the reasons we elected to try ABD for their experience as much as ours. I imagine my 15 year old will by typical teen who only speaks when spoken too but my 13 year old loves making new friends

Just wondering if this is consider large group/small group/or just the right size? Any advice traveling with this size of group.

We had 33 on our Alaska trip last year and it was just right, so I bet you'll be happy with 35.

We had 38 on our trip to the Grand Canyon and it was a little tight on the bus. I don't like how ABD does not require revolving seating on the bus like Tauck. The large group made it a crazy race to get onto the bus because many wanted to sit up front. The AC was much better in the front. It was extremely hot 120+ F. and being stuck in the back of the bus most of the trip was uncomfortable to say the least. We refused to board the bus a half an hour before we were supposed to just to sit in a certain area. Otherwise the group size was no problem. Great trip.

We had 45 on our Adult Only Peru trip last year. It wasn't until the last day or two that we finally really got to know everyone. Logistics were a bit tougher around Peru with that many. Walking across town took a bit of coordination and we had two smaller buses we used to get around when we needed to drive. All in all ABD and our guides did a great job handling our activities and I didn't feel it was much of a draw back.

I really prefer the smaller groups - our Spain Adult Only ABD last month was 23! But if there are 15 children in your group, they will most likely bond as a group. Our Central Europe group wasn't as large as 35 but the kids really stuck together!

Our first ABD was 12 people, but the rest of our adventures after that have had considerably more people. Our upcoming ABD has 34.

Our upcoming Germany adults only is at 30, and our southern CA trip was about the same, was fine.
