Hiya,
Just a quickie. I'm a new mum :cool1: and this will be our first holiday with our daughter. Any tips on what I definately need to bring. We go mid june for 2 weeks. Before you all say I know it'll be warm, but the holiday was booked before I knew baby was in utero!!!

Thanks.

Do you breast feed or formula? Will you be able to get the brand of formula you use here in the states? are you on site or off?

Hi
We travelled lasy year with our DS who had just turned 2 and it felt as if we had packed everything but the kitchen sink and we didn't have bottles, sterilisers etc..
My advice would be to take enough nappies to get you out there, your usual milk and then disposable bibs. I would also advise taking the Milton steilising tablets then you won't have to pack your normal steriliser and they are really handy as they come in packs like headache tablets and you just pop them into the sink with cold water and wahtever you need to sterilise.Once you get there I would advise that you visit the nearest supermarket to get nappies, baby food etc. My best buy when my DS was a baby was to buy a flasK which I would fill with the correct temperature water, I also had an Avent milk dispenser and a couple of sterilised bottles handy. Rather than having to run around trying to find a bottle warmer I just used to pour in the water, add the powder, give it a shake and off we went again. As you will be in the parks for quite a while I would familiarise yourself where baby changing, bottle warming is extra.
Also try the Pampers Sunblock wipes really handy for a quick top up, you will also need plenty of vests as with the heat it will keep her cool enough. Also have a look in mags such as Urchin etc at the pushchair UV Covers that you can get which basically pull all the way over the p/chair and keep out the rays and flies. For a baby this age in 80 deg heat I think this would be a great buy. Also don't forget your rain cover as it can throw it down.
I don't think you are mad going at the end of the day as long as they are fed, bums changed and comfy in their pushchair babies of this age are a joy, it's when they start moving around they become a nightmare.
Have a lovely holiday ::MinnieMo

I took Calpol when my DD was 5 months. She picked up a cold on the flight over so the Calpol was needed straight away. A sunhat for when you are standing in line for a ride, or even just walking from stroller to attraction. Have a great time! :)

We're on bottles at the minute. May just bring ready made cartons of formula, havent decided yet.
Any advice on pushchair-make?
Thanks for responses.

At 5 months you shouldnt have to worry too much about sterilizing the bottles any longer. When i went with my DD who was 2 months i took the powdered formula. I never got my kids used to drinking warmed formula they drank it at room tempso all i had to do was mix it and she was ready to go. In the states they have these round holders for powdered formula that holds 4 bottles worth of formula. I tired to use baby water with floride to mix it but occasionally used just spring water as long as it was room temp.

I have a MacLaren. As long as you can lie them down in it and it is light weight most buggies do the job fine.

I am pregnant at the moment and plan on going to WDW in Feb when the baby will be 4.5months old!!! I have seen travel sterilising bags in boots which look great - we have also invested in a baby sling which will be ideal for the airport and parks!! We plan to get the UV cover for the stroller and take our own car seat too!! Let us know how you get on!! Have a great trip!

DD is 6 now but we've been travelling with her since she was around 4 months old
Do they still do the rolls of sterilised bags that fit into a bottle tube?
You buy the tube thing (for want of a better word! ) and then rolls of sterile bags so that you only need to worry about sterilising the teats.
Not an exactly cheap option (not too costly either) but fantastically easy :cloud9:
I used them for DS (now almost 18 :goodvibes ) when he was small and hunted high and low until I found them for DD this time round. I think you can get them in Boots and also John Lewis baby depts.
Hope this helps. :grouphug:
If you take made up formula you'll have extra packing space for the way home ;)

Thanks for the info guys.
Alison, I managed to find sterile bags in boots so they'll do fine.

Jockey, Good luck with baby. I'll let you know how i get on.
