Travel from OKW to Shades of Green

How easy (or difficult) is it to travel from OKW to Shades of Green using Disney Transportation?

If the reason you're going there is to golf at Palm or Magnolia, just go to the front desk and they'll get you free transportation-a taxi, probably. Otherwise, I don't know of any Disney transportation.

there is no easy way to get there. To enter the property you must be a military (DOD in general) member, a guest of the resort sponsored by eligible member, or visiting the golf courses.

They closed the walkway from Poly a couple months ago. You can’t board a Shades of Green bus without a room key. So the prior poster is correct if the golf course you’ll need to call for a taxi.

My apologies I should have provided more info - I didn't realize Shades of Green was military only. My niece will be staying at either SSR or OKW in February and needs to get to Shades of Green to pick up (I believe) her park passes. Her husband is military. She thought she could just jump on a bus. I explained while Disney has good transportation - one of the hardest things to do is to get from resort to resort in some cases.
Thanks for the info. Is Shades of Green still Disney owned? I'm wondering if she can have her tickets sent over to OKW or SSR? Would anyone know that?

I’d ask on the SOG thread https://www.disboards.com/threads/s...y-world-resort-information-questions.2912833/. Picking up military tickets seems to be complicated, and you’ll get the most accurate answers there!

If she has the spousal military card she can go there to buy the tickets but will need to taxi/Uber there. However, the only advantage to buying there (vs the ticket window) is she will save on the taxes. Every military Disney ticket (including the Salute ticket) is sold at all the ticket windows but she will have to pay the taxes on them.

Shades of Green isn’t a Disney hotel and is owned by the Department of Defense. They unfortunately can’t transfer tickets to OKW or SSR. Though if she doesn’t care about the tax cost (which honestly the Uber will eat that up if only 1 ticket) I say just buy at the park.

If she is near a military base she can buy the tickets there ahead of time and add them to MDE now to make park reservations. She will only need to stop at a ticket window to activate them (show her military ID). She also can call Shades of Green and order them from them to mailed to her ahead of time if the trip isn’t for a while.

fastest way we have found is actually to use Studios as a hub. Take the OKW bus there and just find the SOG stop and ride the bus there. We find it is faster than using Springs, Epcot or MK as a hub.

Shades of green will ship tickets. I would pay for that instead of worrying about getting there to pick them up.
