Travel from GF to BLT/fireworks at TOWL

On our arrival day, we have dinner at the Cinderella's Happily Ever after Dinner at the Grand Floridian at 6:30 (Saturday, July 29). We have never been to the lounge at the BLT so thought it might be fun to watch fireworks at 9 pm. We own at BCV and the monorail resorts are unfamiliar to us. We will UBER to our dinner from BCV. Does the monorail go directly from GF to Contemporary and what time do we need to be at the DVC Top of World lounge to be assured of entry for fireworks? Thanks!

Monorail stops at the MK, then BLT. Plan on being there 30 - 40 minutes prior to fireworks time.

I would think that you would have plenty of time. Just take the monorail on the 2nd floor of GF.
1) There is a sky bridge from the 4th floor of contemporary to the 5th floor of BLT. I usually DO NOT take this because I have found that sometimes it is only open to Magic Band access (for people staying at BLT), so I get off the monorail at the 4th (5th?) floor of Contemporary, go to 1st floor of contemporary on elevator or escalator, then walk outside to the ground floor entrance to BLT. There you can show your membership card and go on up. I hope someone will check me on this, because after this happened the first time, I did not try it again!
2) If you want drinks at TOTWL, get there in plenty of time to order, drink, and pay before 9PM. They will not let you run a tab and go outside on the roof deck before you pay. You can also order after the fireworks, if you are running late.
3) If you don't want alcohol because of being with your kids, they have ice water and cups in the TOTWL, so you can still enjoy it with your kids.
4) We went last two trips to watch the fireworks, and had a great time. Enjoy!

As you have to check in with the Concierge desk, at BLT, for access to the elevator to the TOWL anyway, I would agree with your recommendation of exiting the Contemporary on the ground floor (either the marina or bus stop exit) and walk over to BLT. Yes, the Skyway connects the 4th floor of the Contemporary with the 5th floor of BLT.

My wife and I did a self directed monorail bar crawl and were able to walk across the sky bridge without any issues. This was beginning of February this year. Not sure if anything has changed or we got lucky? It was also around 6 pm, so maybe time of day matters.
