Travel from and to Disney

We will be down in September staying on property at Disney. Normally we do to and from Universal on Mears, but it seems to take forever as they stop at so many places. I also like to be there when the park opens, not just a few (or more) minutes afterwards.

Do any of you have an idea of the cost if we ride a taxi to Universal from All Star Sports, then arrange for return on Mears? What time should we plan on being there, given the smaller crowds in September? It will just be myself and DW.

Taxi could cost $35-40 plus tip one way if you are hung up in traffic

Private car service, depending who you use could be $100 rt to $120 rt

Uber can be cheaper but I have no experience with them

I would plan to be in the line at the gate around 8:30

Sometimes guests are allowed in about maybe 8:50

We used Uber to go from RPR to Discovery Cove and back and it was less than $9 each way. We used Lyft to get to MCO for less than $18, and it was actually free with our sign up bonus.

We used Uber several times during our last trip and it was very affordable! It is about $20 from Universal to Disney ...mears has a cab fare estimator on their we b site
